Default Israeli IDF AR Carbine

Over the years, the Israeli's have rebuilt their 1970s vintage M16A1s numerous times. Most of them now look something like this...

0056q.jpg
0064bp.jpg

Lower-NDS blem––really blemed now!
Lower parts-used anything that was spare taken out of past upgrades, etc
Stock-old Eagle commercial tube and 2 position.
Upper-old Colt beater
BCG CMT
CH Generic
Barrel- Daniel Defense 16" pencil cut down and A1 pin/wel by Adco
IDF bands and conversion sling
M60 Barrel bag

You forget how light the AR was originally designed to be...

Very nice. I like the patina around the carry handle, it shows character.

This is was my IDF issued M-16 A2 , circa 1995. Not much black left on the rifle. None the less, it got the job done.

Modification made by my unit:
Drilled extra holes in stock for a total of 4 positions
Drilled out rear site hole and made large for quicker identification of close targets

I've put a A2 site leaf in all my A1 uppers for the same reason, the bigger "ghost ring" hole.

So have you been crawling through mud, walking through sand storms, diving in the sand with this thing?

How did it get to looking like this?

I don't have, nor do I want a black rifle. My AR is green and brown... But this has me thinking I want a light weight, BFPU looking rifle.

Did you do all those activities with the point of beating this gun up? Or just for fun, part of 3 gun, tactical schools?

Have you taken to it with sand paper or anything to beat it up on purpose?

How many rounds through the tube?

I can't stop coming back to this thread and checking out this rifle!!!!! 5.3 lbs? I want one with a flat top receiver, LMT rear sight (I like 600 yard adjustment), 16" pencil, and the 6 position stock.... I hope that would come in close to 5.3

AGH, just weighed mine... ITS TEN POUNDS!!! But I built it to be a 600 yard gun...

Where do you live? I am going to send my ninja's to take this beauty... so much cooler than the BFPU AK I used to drool over.

I have to say that I love the look of this rifle. Anyone know where I can find a similar bag?

Default Very authentic IDF clone

In the world of tacticool & over-accessorized carbines that weighs 15 pounds, it's very refreshing to see that some folks still appreciate the simpler things in life

It is a USGI M60 barrel bag... They should be easy to find at a surplus store in the $20 range...

Where can one find an old Colt upper? Can I just pick one up out of state?

This has got to be the best looking AR build I have seen. I've had enough of those mutant, tacticool guns.
