I suppose it is hard to meet everyones expectations, but anytime i can crack off some rounds it all good. I showed up with a orange reflective vest which was wrong color (failboat) took some heat but they didnt wreck my night, (thank you for letting me slide) i appreciate it. Also the folks at the breakout range let my wife build more profeiciency with her taser gun, thanks to all for helping her out! I guess i am gonna have to throw down some dough and become a contributor to help promote calguns.

Only Catch(es) I find out about 1 min before running it is that I can't throw any tomahawks/knives unless I plan on leaving them there FOREVER! I was soooo bummed out!
They also told me I can't drop mags meaning I have to pocket them since I don't have a dump pouch which would really slow me down!
I remember you guys, I thought you did pretty well. As for throwing things and dropping mags, please allow me to explain that. Given the time constraints we were under, the reason for those things was we may not have time to search a dark range for your knife, tomahawk, mags (as for mages we just asked for admin reloads - you should practice those regularly . etc until we could get more light (some already thought we had too much light) I can promise you, you wouldn't have to leave it there "forever" just maybe until about 10PM when we went cold. Having said that, should we be allowed to assist in these events in the future we are already working on ideas to accomodate those desires. Stick with us, it only gets better.

Sincerely,
JWH for Shield Tactical

I was there so I will offer my .02.......

1. Thanks to fift7 for offering me the ticket. I was shut out until the last minute when he contacted me and offered me his spare ticket.

2. Good, friendly crowd and helpful volunteer staff.

3. The rifle range was pretty crowded. With a solid wall of targets along the 50 yard line, anything beyond that was behind somebody else's target, so that would account for some people's targets getting shot up by other shooters.

4. Some people have the cool guy tactical operator look down pat, but have frighteningly poor discipline when it comes to actually handling and manipulating weapons. There were numerous occasions where people were handling and fiddling with their weapons during line breaks while folks were downrange setting targets. The RSO's were on top of it and kept yeling at people to not handle weapons during line breaks, but some idiots kept on doing it.

5. There was really no way to know who paid and had a right to be there on the ranges. Anyone could have just parked and set up targets on the rifle range and started shooting. I realize there were wristbands for the 'O' course (which I paid for but didn't bother going to), but the crowd at the regular range was pretty random.

6. I observed the 'No Steel Core' ammo rule and left all my 7.62x39 and 54R stuff at home. However it was apparently an honor system only because nobody inspected ammo. There were a lot of SKS and AK's out there, and I wonder if all those folks were shooting expensive brass cased ammo through them.

7. Overall it was fun and a good value for the price. I am happy to have gone and participated. The 2A is alive and well in California and Calguns does a lot to foster and cultivate our constitutional right to live free. It is a good counterbalance to those in power who would disarm everyone if they got the chance.

I was disappointed with the amount of light. There was actually too much. The whole thing was touted as a night shoot and that it would be dark, bring glowsticks, flashlights, etc, but you could see all the way out to 200 yds. It was not as easy to see as daylight, but I was hoping we couldn't see targets at all and had to depend on glowing objects or flashlights. At the very least the outbreak range should have been dark, but you didn't need flashlights at all. Maybe a few rounds of hot range time with the target lights off could happen next time?
That's a good idea - maybe next year we can have a low or no light range for those who want to walk on the dark side.

The tracer incident was unfortunate,

The bottom line seems to be that we had 300+ participants on 5 ranges, with no serious safety issues and the majority of people had a safe and enjoyable time.

Are you the guy that was down at the left end of the covered area with the paper target in the center and clay skeet hanging off either side?

If so, I apologize. I took about 5 shots at a skeet until you and my friend chimed in. I could have sworn it was said anything on the range was fair game. After all, everyone was shooting our pumpkins and glow sticks, though that is not an excuse.

Once I was asked to keep to my own targets by you, I did. When it collapsed a few minutes later, I just want you to know I had nothing to do with it.

I think I know what is the cause of some of the problems based on this statement. It was announced that there were some Zombie Industries zombie targets put out there for everyone to shoot, and I am starting to think that perhaps how this was relayed may have been a source of confusion. I am adding this to my lessons learned bin about making things more clear.

Maybe next time we can paint the "Community Zombies" a unique color, or have them on a stand that is clearly different from the others. We can figure something out. And we'll emphasize to all that one can only shoot at the marked community targets and, of course, their own.

thanks to all our calguns organizers, vendors, judges, volunteers special thanks to Jacob, Ricky & Sean.

I was mainly on the pistol range as a RSO on the left hand uncovered side. We did not have any major issues either except the time the .223 round went down range. Everybody remained safe and we did remind people to stay away from their bench during cease fire. A few Calguners even asked if I can grab something from the bench for them...(another sticky target, that empty mag, tape/staple etc) awsome to everyone. Thanks to big john and the other guys in our crew over at the pistol side.

I think we should remind people about what targets are ok to shoot so the issues at the rifle line would be cleared up, keeping the lanes in mind also as others have stated.

the tactical range was amazing. I wish I recorded my run but it was really fun. I like the darker set up but I could understand why more might be needed.

the Zombie Indusry targets where truly spectacular. the zombie pig took so many hits and still was ready for more. very impressed and I will use the coupon to buy some more. the torso's also worked the same way, from .22, 9mm, .45, 12ga birdshot, 00 buckshot, 4 buckshot all on the same target and still took hits and that was only what I shot not only do the targets work great the box has two more targets for you. even cut outs for puting in some standard clay birds. your targets rocked, thank you for coming out and hooking up us in the calgun community with those special prices & coupons. Im a loyal customer now

the tacos where SO delicious. the green sauce had a nice kick too!!

as usual another great Calguns event. thank you to all who made it possible and all who attended. next year better buy your tickets early people

im also waiting for those awsome pics and videos, I was so busy having fun & RSO'ing I didnt even take any pics

Hmm.... I thought I may have tasted a bit of lead and foam in the carnitas. But didn't complain because whatever was in those tacos - they were fantastic! And that green sauce - it had more kick than a 91-30 Mosin-Nagant with a steel penetrator 204 grain! Did not expect that.

Yeah that was me. No worries man, just a lack of organization. I don't blame anyone.

Had I known it was just going to be a giant free for all I would have brought nothing but 12ga slugs and fruit (I did vaporize plenty of melons)

Glad everyone went home safe.

lol. I just remember when I first fired the guy on my right seemed pretty startled. He then proceeded to step away from the bench everytime we put a mag in.

A huge thank you to Jacob, Sean and the other C3 leaders for putting this together.

To all the participants I had the opportunity to keep safe as your RSO, I enjoyed being a volunteer for you and look forward to the next event!

Just wanted to say Thanks to the organizers & sponsors for the event, I had a great time. This was my *first* Calguns event (I owe someone a beer for that I think).

My name is Dain, I was one of the Rifle Range RSO's. I spent most of my time toward the right side of the rifle range, though I did make it over to the belt-fed & outbreak ranges before the end of the night. I was wearing a war belt, and a tan ball cap with a USA Flag on the front and glow-tape cateyes on the back.

It was very nice to meet you all, and good to see such a big event with so many like-minded, safe, & professional people, just having a great time exercising our 2nd amendment rights (now get out there & vote for Romney so we can keep them).

Thanks again, hope to see some of you soon at another SoCal gathering.

I would like to take this opportunity to extend a BIG thank you to all the people and organizations who make this possible.

It was a great honor and a real privilege to be there.

CGN, CGNSSA, CRPA, NRA, Fellow C3s/C4s, Fellow RSOs, EMTs, Volunteers, Vendors, Operators, and specially to all our California Law Abiding Citizen Family who attended the event.

THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN.

For Californians to Californians.

God Bless America.

Respectfully.

Lonewolf.
