Default How to paint engraved lower

I have a black anodized lower with custom engraving on the mag well area. Is there a trick to painting the lower but NOT filling the engraving?
(Would like to avoid having to re-fill the engraving since it is already anodized.)
Thanks.

Use a spray-on finish.
Spray evenly and it should not fill up the markings.

Barrel, sight and trigger work on most pistols and shotguns.
Most work performed while-you-wait, evening and saturday appointments available.

Thanks barrels, but no.
1. Any spray paint applied to properly flow out will fill engravings.
2. The engraved logo is extra deep and wide, not fine linework.

i'm assuming when you say "don't want to fill" you meant it as don't want the engraving to be painted in the new color?

if so, then the only choice is to mask it off. either with a liquid mask or plain old masking tape that you cut to fit.

only other choice was to paint then engrave but you are already past that point.

You might be confusing automotive and industrial paint work with gun paint work.

Ceracoat is typically sprayed on 0.001" thick and does not fill up engraving work.

Thanks Scratch.
Liquid mask, that could do it. I will check out the product options.
Any one product better for firearms?

Should have said, will be using Duracoat on top of the anodized frame.

I used this on 4 lowers, worked great, didn't fill up the engravings.
