Semi-Custom steel 1911 or mass produced polymer? Tough decision. Please educate me.
Les Baer Premier II 1911 sir. Everyone should have a premium handgun. In my day it was the Colt Gold Cup and that was the nicest Christmas I ever got myself.

Have fun and enjoy that 45 ACP

The whole point of this thread is to point out that some people think a Glock 19x is worth buying for around $1,500 when there are so many way nicer guns that can be purchased for the same price. Please educate me on their rational reasoning. I just can't believe anyone would buy a G19X for that price.

Thanks everyone for some great suggestions but if I can buy anything around the $1,500 range, my first choice would be a Sig P210A Target and then a CZ Shadow 2. Heck, I'm wiling to pay $2,000 for the P210A.

I could never bring myself to spend $1,500 on a Glock. So my vote goes to the Les Baer.

Unless it was a Model 41 with a 40 MOS slide and a 20 slide and optics... I'd agree.

Not sure if serious - LB PII, Obv. 19x may fetch 1.5k currently in CA, but it's a $500 gun all day long in free states.

~60% depreciation on a glock versus none on the LB PII - geeee I wonder...

It is easy,
If I have $1500 to spend then I will buy Les Baer.
If I have $500 to spend then I will buy Glock.

(In CA, a smart guy sell $500 pistol for $1500, a dump guy pay $1500 for a $500 pistol, don't believe me, then just ask Calguner : Am I smart or dump to buy a $500 pistol for $1500 )

They can have the same holster wear and round count but only the Baer will hold its value.

Assuming the value for the G19x is $1.5k, which it's not.
Yes, CA roster and mark-up fee, I get it, but the value of a G19x is MSRP - $749 - and falling...

That being said, i've paid what I felt was fair for something I wanted ASAP - you do you, OP.

But ... t's still a 19x, which is hella lame.

I think the 19x is great, but I wouldn’t pay the crazy premium for it. Glock is selling them for more than a normal pistol. The agency price is significantly higher than a gen 4 or 5 19 or 17. A realistic Street price would probably be $675 in a free state.

No way in hell I'd pay $1500 for a factory Glock. CA pricing or no CA pricing.

$1500 for a Glock??? Hell no! Don't contribute to keeping the ridiculous CA prices up! Law of supply and demand! No brainer...Les Baer.

Les Baer if you specifically want a 45. If you want to spend $1500 on a 9mm Glock- you'd be better off getting one new and sending it to Agency Arms or Taran Tactical.

Do you want a $1500 gun for $1500 or do you want a $599 gun for $1500?

If you’re dead set on blowing it all on one gun then the les Baer for sure. A glock is a 5-600 dollar gun I don’t care what upgrades it has. Glock is a great gun but 1500 could buy you 3 of them.

Id go with the 19x because I don't see any advantages of a 1911 over a glock

I’d go with the 19x because it’s off roster. Anybody can buy a Baer at msrp.

If I want something that I really like (specially guns). I won't even ask for
Anyones opinion or what they think. Don't care if it's 10x msrp! It's my
Money and my gun! Personally tho I'd go for the 19x. If u already thinkin paying that much for the 19x then you must really like it! Follow your heart bro, at the end of the day, it's ur money and ur gun

For $1500 I'd rather have a 19X than a 1911, any day of the week. OP needs to understand that different people like different things. Stupid thread is stupid.

This is basically what it comes down to.

Why anyone cares what someone else wants to do with their money is beyond me. Lot of people on here hate just to hate, just as bad as all the people the calguns circle jerk complains about.

If you are going to spend $1500, why would you consider a $600 gun?

Supply and demand. If you are in California and you do not have a way to get around the roster, then the Glock 19X in this scenario is a $1500 gun.

No. The Glock 19X is a $600 gun. And you don't need to pay a $900 premium when you can get a Glock 19 for $600. People are entitled to be foolish with their money, but foolish it is to pay a 250% surcharge just because you like something (versus need it). Calling it capitalism doesn't erase the fact that a choice was made to substitute emotion for logic.

A fool and his money are soon parted.

I am sure Glock lovers will have a G17 and a G19. All they have to do is put the G19 slide onto the G17 frame, change out to better sights and drop it in some poop and you will get a G19X and save yourself $500 too.

Just like the guy who spends $1500 on an obsolete grandpa gun when he could have bought an RIA for $389 that, honestly, is probably just a reliable and shoots just as well?

Yeah. A fool and his money.

You bought a Les Baer because it's a boutique gun, and that's cool by me. What's not cool is that you all but admitted to starting this thread for the purpose of ****ting all over people who spend big bucks for off-roster guns. If someone wants a 19X, how is it breaking your back for them to buy it?

Really? What a silly statement to make on a California gun forum. Where in California can I, a non-exempt civilian, walk into a gun store and legally buy a G19X for $600?

By the way, let's talk about gasoline. How much does gasoline cost? Is a gallon of gas roughly three dollars?

I'm sorry if you were one of the lucky guys to have purchased a Glock 19X for $1,500. Hope you enjoy it.

I know I will definitely enjoy my outdated semi-custom Les Baer 1911.

I am not ****ting on people who spend big bucks on off roster guns. I have paid much more for many of mine but I would never pay $1,500 for a G19X.

Please educate me on why the G19X is so much better than a G19 slide on a G17 frame. You must know something that a lot of us don't.

I don't own a G19X nor did I ever claim to. Decent job of sidestepping the issue, though.

It’s $2.59 here, unless I buy ethanol free, which is what I buy and store in my metal free state Jerry cans. Sorry brother couldn’t resist.

OP, congrats on the Baer Sir. I’m trying to pick up a 19x here but nobody has them currently. They’ve been getting in very small batches like 2 or 3 at a time and they sell same day. They’re under 600 here, when in stock. I bet given some more time, more and more 19x’s will sneak in under the wire there and hopefully you can grab one for less than 1.5k. Enjoy your new PII.
