Thumbs up Glock 34 Gen 3 Build *Updated Post #53

Hi, everyone! Just picked up my 3rd glock and this is solely my range gun and nothing more. So i've decided that I'm gonna do a glock build for the next couple weeks or so.

Dawson Precision Sights: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...5&postcount=27
Zev Technologies Guide Rod and Magwell Pro: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...9&postcount=28
Taran Tactical +0 Baseplates: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...1&postcount=31
Zev Technologies Extended Magazine Release: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...6&postcount=38
Zev Technologies Fulcrum Ultimate Trigger Professional (non-adjustable): http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...1&postcount=43
Zev Technologies Barrel DLC (Diamond Like Coating; Black): http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...5&postcount=53
Zev Technologies Titanium Pin Kit: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...2&postcount=57

I picked this up from rifle gear in fountain valley.

I'm getting one next month. Going to send it out for a G19 grip chop and frame work.

Nice! A lot of people say this is an ugly gun, I've grown to love it's ugliness.

Post pics when you get it back!

I taught myself to shoot with my dad's G34 years ago... today, most Glocks in general, are still the standard for performance and comfort that I expect from a handgun.
If you tell me I need one gun to carry on duty, defend my home, and target shoot to 25 yards or more, it would be a Glock 34 or 35.
Enjoy.

Look into Taran Tactical Innovations they have packages that include stipple, sights, and trigger work. I did 2 34's with them and couldn't be more happy. The turn around was 2 weeks which was reasonable.

I wanted to get a glock 21 for Christmas but the wife said I already have a glock; so she then bought me an HK USP 45. I would love to have more glocks in my collection.

I ordered some Taran tactical base plates for my mags, I'll look into it.

For my sights I chose Dawson Precision.

Good choice! I've got a gem 3 G34 as well and it's a great shooter right out of the box.

I love the gun, shot the g35 many times before but I usually try to stick with one caliber (9mm and .45acp) in my collection.

Great choice! I originally wanted to build a 19L and ended up turning my 17 into a 34 instead.
It wet from this...

Nice OP!

I just picked up a Gen4 G34 (that you apparently know about since you posted in my thread). Going to shoot it and compete with it a bit before changing anything though.

Sounds like a cool project. Not sure the level of mods you're planning to do I'm sure we all like to see it once it's done. Here's my G35 gen 3 that I use as a range gun for USPSA. I went with LW 40-9 conversion, 19lb recoil spring, after market connector and springs. Trigger breaks at 2.5 lbs. the one on the right is a friend's G34 gen4 and he opted to put the SS pins and not very DP magwell. Also aftermarket springs and Ghost connector. I'm still debating if I should go ahead in texturing my G35z

Basically everything to the gun, except for the slide for now. I'm excited!

This is one gun I would keep a longer grip. It is a little muzzle heavy even next to a g17.

Well, if Riflegear or OC Firearms has a 17 actually in stock I'll be buying one of those. Lol
I'm looking forward to what the OP does to his.

Well, just sent my gun in to get the sights put in. (This is the only time I take it into the gunsmith) and it's being fitted with the Dawson's precision sights. Blacked out rear with a FO front sight in red.

I think rifle gear only has the g34 in stock so far. The 17 and 19 is kinda hard to find. Especially the g19.

Dawson's Precision Sights

Parts are trickling in as we speak.

the sights remind me of novak sights that are on 1911's, i love it!

Zev Tech SS Guide Rod Uncaptured version with ISMI 13b Guide Rod Spring vs OEM Glock 34 Guide Rod / Spring

Zev Tech Magwell Pro

Reasoning I picked this is because its more subtle than their other magwells you usually see on other zev tech guns.

Very nice choices. I like that front sight. The smiler the better for aiming accurately.

Great Magwell too. No need for those exaggerated saucer size wells. This looks really good. I have one that is a bit bigger than this one that I got from glock store. Will replace it with one like yours. I like this much better.

Thanks for sharing OP.

no problem! Yeah, I love the front sight, compared to my trijicon hd ns on my g19, you can actually see what you're really aiming at since its not that big of a dot.

The magwell does its job as to guide the magazine into the gun. you can use your stock baseplate on the glock mags as it sticks out just a tiny bit, ill snap a picture when i have time with the regular glock mags.

i also ordered taran tactical base plates for all my glock mags.

Thank you, sir! I try to give it a balance of tacticool and being practical. Then again this is gonna be a super model-ish gun for the shooting range lol.

Thank you! I am gonna order the zev tech fulcrum professional trigger. (It doesn't have the pre travel or reset adjustability) and the zev tech stainless barrel. (Or the kkm barrel since its way cheaper)

Cool stuff. I have messed with the trigger on a few glocks, granted nothing like a Zev trigger, and I never really cared for them. I preferred the stock trigger in the end. They are pretty ugly compared to most, but they grow on you. glock was my first so naturally there will always be room in my heart and safe for them

Yeah at first I never liked glocks until I shot one, for years I stayed away from glocks. I just learned to love them.
