Default Where are the AK pistols?........

.......Here's mine...the Green Monster!

Century Champion (Draco) pistol in 7.62x39 converted by Freakshow Manufacturing (thanks Adam!) to single shot status. Legally transferred into Cali as single shot exempt. Legally converted after transfer to semi-auto. Prior owner had painted it with baked on molybdenum disulfide paint in flat olive green. Has Solar lock and 10/40 mag with VMG grip, UTG aluminum quad rail, a Beamshot 2000 green laser. The brake is the new PWS FSC47.

Not at all practical but very fun!

JP,

Nice! What is the barrel length on that? Mine is 11".

I want to add a sling swivel in the rear trunion as well. Any thoughts on how to retrofit one? Thanks.

7"

I just took a sling loop off of a Romy G buttstock and attached it to the trunnion with machine screws. You'll have to drill and tap it.

Great idea. Is the rear trunion hardened?

Dude,

That is over the top, in a good way.!!!!

REALLY big magazine on a small weapon (very similar to myself ;-) !!)

Can't wait to see it up close !!

The AK pistol w/Laser/Eotech brings new meaning to "home defense", ...I pity the fool....

There are more members here with AK pistols, they probably just haven't seen this thread yet.

Factory trunnions are, after market pistol trunnions probably aren't. I used a factory trunnion, cut off the tang, and put a single 1/4" rivet through the remaining buttstock screw hole to attach a steel block, which was drilled and tapped. A steel plate is sandwiched between the sling loop and the trunnion to cover the rear of the gun.

Mine has a factory trunion so drilling it will be tough I guess.

California and Federally compliant AOW.

I had my C&R ATF inspection after I tried to volreg this gun, and CADOJ had tipped ATF that I was <gasp>building guns</gasp>. Thank goodness for interagency cooperation keeping us all safe. Inspection went fine, no problem from ATF on building this, much to the frustration of CADOJ I'm sure.

Yugo M92 kit built up from a flat as a single-shot, converted to semi, and AOW'ed.

If you thought the TangoDown VFG was already expensive, try adding $200 to the price tag.

First pic showing the gun with the ATF NFA Tax Stamp paperwork, 10/20 magazine:

Second pic, same gun in its latest furniture (ATF NFA Tax Stamp above still applies):
California and Federally compliant AOW. (Sorry for the repeat but last time there was such an excrement storm.)

so, i'm looking to get an ak pistol.

1) can someone give me a quick run through on what the difference between a krinkov, draco, and other ak pistols are?
2) is installing a rear sling swivel as easy as drill and tapping or is there a whole other piece that needs to be installed?
3) i read you guys talking about a trinnion... what is that?

thanks for any info you can provide!

1) Krinkovs are Russian. Dracos are Romanian.

2) I believe the rear sling swivel is already mounted on AK pistol trunnions.

3) A trunnion is a metal block riveted inside the receiver in order to mount a buttstock in the rear and the barrel in the front.

The Draco does not have a sling swivel on the rear trunion since this is a factory made pistol with it's original Romanian receiver and trunions. Per JumboPanda, the factory rear trunion is hardened, so drilling it might be a challenge. Aftermarket rear pistol trunions for custom builds may have sling swivel opening already.

I went the easy route and built my AR pistola first, but I plan on building my ak clone pistol soon. Maybe sooner than later after reading this damn thread.

It came like that. I don't know where you would get it. There must be somewhere though. Maybe straight from Lancaster.
