Excellent - thanks for all the good info! I really thought threaded barrels on pistols were a no-no in CA, even after the DROS process. Huh, maybe I *will* continue my search for an HK SOCOM Mk. 23 then... cool.

They are, but for AK pistols you need a maglock. The maglock basically negates all the "evil features". A HK Socom Mk. 23 cannot have the threaded barrel installed. You can have the threaded barrel in your posession, it just cant be used while in state.

Finally, some pics and info to add to this thread!

Just got this one home last night and went to town on it. I don't have the means to drill out the rear trunnion for a sling attachment, so I made mine up with some black webbing I had laying around. It will work for now.

Draco AK pistol
Hogue FDE AK grip
Midwest Industries FDE handguard
Troy single-point sling on my own, made-up, nylon webbing sling mount
Tapco slotted muzzle brake

Enjoy!

[QUOTE=qbertquartz2;2574460]I've been wanting one ever since Goldeneye.

Updated with a new set of furniture. The original set is going to be saved. The upper wood was donated to me for this project, it's from a 545 so there is a groove. The lower wood is from Arsenal that is now discontinued or unavailable from what I've heard.

The pistol looks amazing! I was wondering what stain color is that?
And how does the 4 piece flash hider work for you?
TIA.

[QUOTE=jacques;1987918]Just picked mine up today. Lancaster on a NDS-3 receiver, JP lock, 10/40 mag, and bungie sling.

Your AK Pistol looks sharp! Did you drill a hole to mount a sling mount or did you install a Pistol trunnion with cutout for Uncle Mike's sling swivel?

He's got a Troy single-point sling, helped him out with installation. We used djleisure's idea, with his help, using nylon webbing between the ErgoGrip and receiver.

Did you just saw on an extra nylon right after the clip cover?

I'm not sure how he did his, but I just used a piece of nylon webbing that was already sewn back on itself. You can see it pretty clearly in this pic here. Hope this helps!

Thanks Djleisure!

That makes it alot easier because I was thinking of drilling a hole at the rear and installing a sling mount. How do you like the finish. It seems like they parkerized our Draco pistols. When I saw mine I wanted to re-finish it.

922r (compliance) only relates to long guns.

Nice, all I need now is a person with a Dremel or I guess I can attempt to take a slim file I have and file it down until it fits

Yep. My Girlfriend had an "intervention" when I brought this home. Didn't have the heart to tell her about my Romanian non-g side folder I have on dros. I guess that's what the ten day wait is for?

Here is my Draco after a few modifications.

Removed Tapco G2 Trigger and Hammer Set, removed tack weld and barrel nut.

Added Romy AKM Trigger and Hammer Set, AKM Slant Brake, Nylon loop plus Magpul MS2 as well

I have not fired it yet, might go to Chabot for a little session today. If not I will be shooting it and my other toys tomorrow at the Zombie Shoot

(Mag is blocked to 10/30 and is sealed with epoxy as well.)

Well here is a before and after staining. For some reason my bottom piece came really light, will add some more stain to it tomorrow I guess. But here it is for now,

No Stain

2 Coats on Top 4 Coats on Bottom

All I want now is a Romanian PG to better match my setup

Thanks, I updated my original post with a little more info.
The orange set is the original Bulgarian stain. There are no replacements for these so that's another reason why I put the black set on. I also like the flash light lower and there's no replacement for that one either.. I didn't notice any flash even at night. Very effective FH, probably the best there is for this design.
