Default Lobby John Cornyn and Others re CCW Reciprocity

As many of you know, the House bill HR 38 that passed allows concealed carry by Californians in California with an out-of-state CCW. The Senate bill introduced by Majority Whip John Cornyn does not. It only allows you reciprocity if you have a CCW in your state of residence. Under the Senate bill, Californians in counties that effectively won't issue are SOL. Therefore, it is important to attempt to lobby and influence Corbyn as well as others.

If you have the time and energy to do it, put together a brief letter cogently explaining why concealed carry reciprocity is so important to you, as a law-abiding Californian living in a blue county in a blue state state; and why the senate bill would be an enormous disappointment for you. nothing wrong with casually mentioning that you are an active NRA donor/lifetime member if that is the case--opinions of activists are always valued more highly. Email is okay, but supposedly the conventional wisdom is that paper letters have more of an impact.

Other than Cornyn, Senators it may be a good idea to send letters to are:

If our own senators won't listen to use why would a senator from another state listen to us?

This.

If you’re not their direct constituent they don’t care what you have to say.

I called his office months ago to ask about adding non-resident ccw to his bill. I told them I was calling from California and she said to call me local Rep. and then hung up the phone.

Next time you call ask them if you have to follow laws passed by people out of your district.

Regardless keep the pressure up and let them know you contribute to reelection campaigns of people NOT in your district as do many others !
