Ordered brand new spigots for all my Aquatainers. Not as costly as I though it'd be...about $6 each.

Refreshed the water in all of our Aquatainers and replaced the old spigots with the newer style.

Old on left, new on right...

Whats the good part of the new spigots? Worth the upgrade?

They seem a little beefier than the old style. My old ones had cracks up the threads and these new ones seem a little thicker.

You can get them directly from Reliance Products but they're a little more expensive: https://www.relianceproducts.com/pro...ements/73.html

Got a solar cell phone charger as well. Also got a cord of red oak for the BBQ and fireplace. That will last us all year since it doesn't really ever get cold here.

Good day for food storage. Bought 10 each of the 1.25 and 5 gallon mylar bags and a mess of 300cc oxygen absorbers.

Got a half dozen each of the 2 gallon and 5 gallon food safe plastic containers from Lowes and two of the easy open 1.25 gallon containers from Honeyville Farms.

Stored 5 pounds of sugar and 25 pounds of iodized salt in plastic containers. Neither of these need oxygen absorbers or mylar bags.

Bagged up 5 pounds of potato flakes, 3 pounds of pancake mix, 3 pounds of dried red beans using 1.25 gallon mylar bags and 600cc's each of oxygen absorbers. Sealed using a hair straightener. Came out great!!!!

While not exactly "today", recently I have given to 2 lady friends backpacks, that are surplus to my needs, so they can put together their own BOBs.

^ I need to do the same for our BOBs.

Not necessarily a 'prep' but we picked up a 5 cu. ft. chest freezer today. Wanted/needed one for a long time.

Case of 24 waters +1 GL jug.
Imodium AD, but the second box of 24 at 50% off, and the lady needed one anyways. I have never in my life used it, but if it helps her...
A fire is around the corner, and my daughter said that the power went out at her school today.
Almost a full tank of gas, so that shouldn't be an issue.

Also: Did the math!
AVG is ~73.47% savings reloading for the wheel gun in .38 and .357 vs Retail...
73.47% is a good way to prep. for anything.

This reminds me, I should tumble some brass right now when the power is up... just in case.
