Default DROS Chinese SKS question

My late Chinese SKS has a Spike Bayonet that is riveted on. If i sell it will i have to remove the bayonet to DROS it. A lot of gun stores have a phobia over attached bayonets.

Don't use any of those guys, have your buyer take thier business to someone that knows what's going on. What part of the world are you in these days. PAX

I dros'ed one not too long ago at aces jewelry and loan in west covina...They didn't bat an eye. I don't know where you are located if you're close it might be worth a call. Ask for Chris he's very helpful and knows what he's doing.

Find a good FFL.....don't patronize the Fudds.
You are in Sac, right? River City sells the things all the time....they would do the DROS.
There is a trick for entering the make into the system. I don't remember what it is.

I have encountered SKS rifles with peened bayonet lugs. It would almost certainly damage the firearm trying to get it off. No need to deal with that, just go to an FFL that knows what they are doing, such as Alamo Pawn or Ace's.

They're so paranoid there that the gun shops themselves think that a Chinese SKS is horribly evil and don't want anything to do with them.. They won't even bother to look up the legality of it because even then they wouldn't believe it...

That's really unfortunate

I have encountered the same scenario with attached bayonets on SKS's while trying to do a PPT. As others have said, find a good FFL that knows the law. Bayonets and/or bayonet lugs are not an evil feature in CA. And if your SKS is in the original stock it's featureless anyway, GTG.

Maybe they are confusing it with USA Today’s chainsaw bayonet, which is a banned feature. (Yes I am joking)

Bummer to hear about all the knee-jerk reaction to the sale of legal guns in California. Reminds me of how Calguns shut down private ammo sales.

I think all of you guys would be better off by scrapping any interest in the crappy jammamatic commie SKS platform. Ugly, unreliable, no collector value, and not even any good as a casual plinker.

With so many other good options out there, why even fool around with this junk?

Yes they are two exellent ffl's just like Bobby mentioned above he referenced both. I've dealt with Aces and Alamo pawn in West Covina and have left happy each time. I dros'ed a Chinese SKS at Aces and a Yugo SKS at Alamo. Give either one a call and set something up.
