It's legal (registered). Colt Sporter Lightweight circa 1993. Aimpoint CompML2. 4-position stock (RRA).

I should probably jump on the lower bandwagon...

DPMS clear black plastic waffle magazine from Brownell's, and I used the Sportingconversions.com kit.

Very nice, I like that magazine. I have always liked the idea of a clear magazine, it's easier to keep track of how many rounds you have if you lose track.

Yes, but 4/5ths of the magazine is hidden inside the magwell. Really all you see is the spring. With 10 rounds in, you can barely see the 10th round. It's a great concept for normal capacity magazines though.

Um, dude - that looks to me like a pistol grip PLUS forward pistol grip. Aren't you 1 evil feature ahead of where we're allowed to be until registration?

Edit: Never mind, re-read the law. Cool! I thought we were only allowed one evil feature with a fixed mag.

None of the evil features apply to fixed 10 round lowers--which that is.

Picked up my 3 lowers today and just got done building one - took at 1/2 hour (these things are just like legos)

I don't have any place to host - but I did take a couple pictures. I'll try to get it hosted this weekend.

Specs for the HP Upper:
Stag Lower
Bushmaster 10 round mag
Sporting Conversions fixed mag kit
White Oak Precision Service Rifle Upper with Krieger 1:7 twist barrel
White Oak Precision tuned RR NM trigger
NM sights
Barrel and stock weight
Turner sling

I cannot recommend the RR NM triggers either stock or tuned by White Oak - unbelievably smooth and SO much better then the god awful stock trigger the AR has. Feels more like a good M1A trigger.

Jeff

Thanks

http://bushmaster.com
For BM 10 round mags

and

http://sportingconversions.com/
For fixed mag "kit" (mag and mag catch not included).

I have those items on my CA-legal rifle which consists of:

STAG lower
Model One Sales A2 20" HBAR SS barrel w/ "M" marked upper/sights and A1 Flash hider(odd)

I intended to build it in "M4" style at first, but the parts kit was a gift from my dad, it is over 10 years old and never fired. Thanks to my dad's contribution and not counting time and gas, I only invested $220 into my rifle so far. I'll build my Doublestar lower in "M4" style. I haven't picked it up yet.

I do believe Al is saying it's a registered AW, not like the other California Legal rifles we've been talking about lately.

As much as I wish I was back in Cali so I could get in on the California legal self loading .223 rifle deal, I'm not... so here are a few of the toys I get to play with over here in the sandbox. Wish I could have these back home!
