Default finished my Saiga 12

Here is a pic of my finished S12!

S12, 7.5" ace skeleton stock, HK sights w/tritium inserts, poly choke perm attached to shortened barrel to make it justa tad over 18", Romy g, trigger guard w/custom mag lock. Total OAL is 35 3/4".

Many thanks to my friend Gozuki. Without his help, I would still have a stock S12.

Looks good! How did your weld on the HK sights and how did the welds turn out?

Took a few weeks working on it very part time. I mostly assisted while my friend did the brunt of the work, when our schedules allowed. Bullet button is custom creation by my friend.

The rear sight is migged with plug welds through the bottom of the dust cover, front was migged then smoothed. I'll try to get close ups.

correct, the minimum allowable OAL on a shotgun is 26" in its shortest fireable position. OP said that OAL was 35+".

I MIGed mine also. wanted to TIG but don't have any friends with a TIG

I was freaked as all get out about the front sight. Was worried that the gas system would get warped and the puck wouldn't work. It must be okay cause it runs great. I should have cut more of the radius off as the sight ended up sitting a hair high.

I didn't think the rear welds through properly and just ran a bead down the sides. Of course I then had to use a die grinder and a dremel to get it all smoothed out. Dohhh!!! Oh well, next one will look nicer.

how does the BB work? it looks like a little box around the mag release, so i imagine there's a hole too small for a finger to get in such that you need a bullet tip or screwdriver to hit the paddle?

nice work!

The one on the right is for an out of state 07 who is doing a supressed SBS saiga 12.

From left to right, these will be: a .22 upper 6" supressed SBR AR, (QTY2) .223 10.5" suppressed SBR ARs, a suppressed Beretta 9mm, (QTY 2) SBR suppressed GSGs, a P22, and the S12. All out of state customers, of course.

That is the coolest I have seen. It's almost exactly how I would do it, but better

How does it feel to shoot? I was worried thw 7.5" was going to be too short

Have you fired it yet since the work? Does it cycle alright with the shortened barrel? Also would your friend be interested in shortening another barrel? I have one that is too long and I would like to shorten it up.

The sights are H&K G3 or PTR91s. They can be found for about $60-75. There is a little modification to be done to weld them on, but no big deal. As for the "shorter" barrel, it is 18" OAL instead of 19" so there is no difference that I could tell. I polished the bolt, and it runs 100% even on cheapy walmart bulk birdshot.
