Default Metro 4x & 6x-Where are they???

Does anyone know if these two scopes have been added to the U.S. market yet? I've been doing a little reading up on this Meprolight offering and it looks like the 4x and 6x prisms were announced around the 2013-2014 shot show. Can't find a distributer online that sell them though. Checked around on youtube and don't see any reviews either. Now that's odd for an optic from a company like Meprolight to have an optic out that long without any review vids...

They have em' on the Mepro website:

I hadn't heard about the Mepro 4x or 6x prior to your post. It caught my interest, so I did a little looking and found these links...

Midway (Out of Stock):
https://www.midwayusa.com/product/10...ny-mount-matte

The Mako Group (In Stock):
https://www.themakogroup.com/mepro-4x.html

I have no experience in buying anything from The Mako Group and don't know anything about them, so I can't vouch for them in that regard.

The Mepro 4x looks like an interesting optic, and naturally I'd love to see how it measures up to an ACOG. With ACOGs being so widely available for a used but good condition price of $750/$800 or so, it seems tough to justify the $1,285 price tag on the Mepro 4x without knowing more. Definitely plan to see what else I can find out though. Thanks for posting about this one.

Default Meprolight Optics

Well I have the M21 red dot and don’t really like it at all. That might be because I hate the reticle. The bullseye sucks. Also it just doesn’t feel right on anything but the Tavor. I get it, it was basically created specifically for the Tavor, but still...most of the reviews I’ve seen say it works well on AR’s too. I disagree.

Wow. Those are really heavy and expensive. Might as well buy a proven ACOG instead.

Yep, even with the Tavor... I ended up putting an Eotech on mine because I prefer that reticle.

I think it’s cool that Mepro is offering some good reticle choices for the 4x, but agree that an ACOG would still be my choice for the money until there’s more info and reviews on the Mepro 4x to suggest otherwise.

Default Eye relief?..

Maybe the eye relief is better on the mepro? Idk. That’s really the only flaw with the ACOG

Not with the 11 or 33.

Based on advertised specs of the Mepro 4x, the eye relief is actually a little less than that of an ACOG unfortunately.

Haha, ya it’s a tough one. Would still love to see a review of the 4x specifically. I can’t imagine that Mepro arrived at that price point without having a reason being how they had to know it would be compared to the ACOG. Just tough to tell what the selling points are with the limited info available.

I will make some inquiries and see if I can get my hands on one to review

Definitely had them at SHOT, looks like they made some upgrades (marked "New" anyways).

Looking through it, clarity was good and i liked the reticle.

But the eye relief was definitely short.

Still trying to see if i can get one to take to the range.

The whole prism scope market is kinda getting a little crowded. I will try to get my hands on the Mepro and see. I am currently looking at Sig Bravo4 and the FOV on this thing is pretty ridiculous. However, I think I still like Specter OS more, I think.
