Default LA C3 Monthly Shoot 02/22; 7PM @ The Firing Line (Burbank)

Hey Everyone,

I hope everyone's week has been has awesome as mine. For those of you that have been keeping tabs on what I've been up to you'll be happy to know that I shot my 8" target at 15yds first time out (not all of us can say that right PM720?) with relative ease considering it was 6:30AM and about 30 degrees inside the range at OC Indoor. I even did so well that my second group of 10 were about an inches apart.

So, it's official, I'm an NRA Certified Pistol Instructor

So my offer still stands, I'll have some more 8" circles at the event, and the first person that can put 20 in one at 15yds gets a free T-Shirt. Last month nobody (besides me) was able to do it, so I hope you have been practicing. Any pistol 22lr and up is eligible, and you must use iron sights.

I'll also be there to talk about the Winchester NRA Qualification program for those who want to test their skills and earn a patch and some rockers.

Looking forward to another awesome shoot!

*Again, for those that didn't get tickets at the LAX event earlier this month that plan on attending Burbank, let me know and I'll make sure you get two raffle tickets.

- RoundEye

* * *

It's that time again. Join us at The Firing Line in Burbank (1060 North Lake Street, Burbank) for the NEXT LA C3 Monthly Shoot of 2013 which will be held on 02/22/2012 @ 7:00 PM.

Please review the following details pertaining to the meet:

Pistols - The occasional double tap is acceptable (but if it's get's out of line the privilege will be taken away), no holstered pistols, no drawing from a holster, no open carry (all standard indoor range safety rules apply)
Rifles - The only permitted rifles must be of handgun caliber (9mm, .40, .357, 5.7mm, etc... are acceptable). ARs/AKs of the 22lr variant are also welcome.
Shotguns - Unfortunately, given the size of the range (47ft), shotguns are NOT permitted.
Cost - $10, stay and shoot as long as you want!
*CalGunners get membership prices on ammo and rentals.
** Firing Line members are free to attend.

REMINDER: - When you're there your actions represent the entire CalGuns community. We should always take responsibility for our actions, and treat their facility with the utmost respect.

As usual, we'll be able to utilize their training room to eat dinner, hangout, chit-chat, and purchase swag. In addition, as usual they will be reserving an entire side of the range for us, and depending on the turnout we may have to take turns and/or expand into the other range. We'll also be providing Costco pizza for anyone that is hungry and wants to eat.

So, who's in? You know there is nothing better that you'd rather do on a Friday night than shoot some guns with fellow CalGunners!

* * *

* If you're interested in volunteering your time and helping coordinate this shoot, or one like it in your area, contact me for details. *

I'm guessing Moving has been married a while, because Mrs. Moving must either be very understanding, or be used to this by now.

I'm in.

I should be ready for the 20 in 8 inch @ 15 yards by then. The twins got tuned even further and the laser snapcap has been getting a workout. I'll have no excuse. Just gotta be patient. Gonna start humming an old school song:

Baby you can do it, take your time, do it right. You can do it, baby, do it tonight. LOL

10 years married; 19 years together. And many more to go.
She is understanding, but let's be clear - it's all about give & take and I'm taking it on this one behind the scenes.

You can probably just rubber stamp me in for these deals and I will let you know if I cancel! I'll get back to you on +1.

As for the 8" circle, well, all I can say is my student outshot yours! Now, who wants a lesson from WHOM??

Hello,

I'm new here at Calguns as well. Please sign me up for this event on 2/22 at 7pm.

I have a few questions:

I see that you stated the occasional double tap is acceptable. If I fire just three rounds on my forty cal at a time, is that okay? The official firing line rules states, "14.) NO RAPID-FIRE PERMITTED. ALLOW AT LEAST ONE SECOND BETWEEN SHOTS."

Is this policy depending on the safety officer on duty?

Awesome, and welcome to the forum. If you're serious about improving proficiency, I provide can provide you with training, and 50% of the proceeds go to the Calguns Shooting Sports Association (CGSSA). If you're interested, we can talk about it on Friday, but for the time being you can check out this thread for additional information.

A triple tap, is probably one shot too many. Our event is pretty much self regulating to a point, but there will be non-calgunners at the range as well and we can't set a bad example. This is why it says the privilege can be taken away if it's out of hand. So you need to work on double taps that should be fine as long as it's tap tap, reacquire sight picture, and tap tap, ... The key question is, are you really trying to hone your skills with practice, or are you just wasting ammo.

Anyone else planning on shoot some of the qualification courses for the Winchester/NRA Qualification Program?

We'll have plenty of 9" paper plates on hand for those that are up to the challenge. I have the certification packages on order, and I don't think I'll have them in time for this shoot, but I'll have them for the next one for sure and we can award them then.

Welcome, you'll never find a better group of people to go shooting with on a Friday night. We look forward to meeting you.

As for the raffle, we have an on going raffle all year long where we issue one raffle ticket for each LA Chapter Shoot that you attend. So, the more events you attend, the better your odds of winning. We may also pull tickets throughout the year for prizes as we get them, and the winner will have the option of taking that prize, or keeping their raffle ticket in for the draw at the end of the year.

I'll make a thread and sticky it at the top of the forum just in case there are others who are not aware.

Hahaha... funny stuff.

RoundEye! Congrats on your certification!

And, dang! 20 rounds into an 8" circle at 15 yds... I *might* be able to do that. I put 15 rounds in each green zone at 25ft at LAX last Saturday morning...

I'll probably have to wait for the next LAX meet. I work 12 hour days now...

Thanks for your efforts in putting these things together! and it's more fun now that there are challenges. I love it!

YES, FINALLY! Someone noticed the "California Safe Calgun Roster", YES!

Thank you for the well wishes, but remember 15 yds is 45ft.

I'm glad you enjoy the shoots, and looking forward to seeing you at LAX next month.

D'oh! You're right... that's nearly twice the distance... and if I can't stop teetering back and forth then I won't be able to hit jack ****.

Thanks. Things are just getting interesting for me. I started shooting a rifle two years ago. I waited on a handgun the whole time... I bailed out this new Loaded in December! and I love shooting it.

That you've added 'challenges' only makes these things more fun! and as I said earlier in another thread, I look forward to meeting this group because you all sound like conscious individuals. That's right; and concientious, too.

No medium shirts for doods on hand, but they're on order. I do have some new patches though both Velcro and Iron on that I'll have with me.

It's never too late to sign up for the monthly shoots.

I'll put you down for a +1. As for shirts, the biggest ones I have currently for doods is XL, I do have some XXLs, and XXXLs on order, so you may be forced to come to another monthly shoot to collect your prize.
