Arrow █ HK MP5-A5 .22lr Build & Use Journal █

Started the wait period today.
Bought used from another member on here.
What a sweet deal:

HK MP5-A5 Rifle (Built by Walther, imported by Umarex)
It included the original box, paper work, lock, and tools.

The deal got even sweeter:
  • HKparts.net Claw Mount Rail
  • Sightmark Ultra Shot Sight QD Digital Switch Red Dot Sight
  • Neoprene Cover for Sight
  • 5.11 Basic Single Point Static Sling
  • 300 rounds of CCI Mini-Mag HP
  • Full pack of batteries for the Red Dot Sight

I cannot wait to get in some super cheap plinking and let my girlfriend shoot the snot out of it!

While I was paying the PPT fee I also bought another 10rd mag for it.
And just ordered this as well:

UAG Tactical Dual Mag Holder

That should make the 10rd magazines a little more bearable haha.

I'll range report as soon as I can.
Glad bulk packs work for you chozenfew!
Going to order the Federal bulk pack of 2,100 rounds with ammo case from Cabelas.

MP5 is awesome! Everyone loves shooting it.. Favorite ammo is American Eagle 22lr HV, HP. $17.99 for #400 rounds from Palmetto State Armory. CCI is great but a bit costly.. Worst ammo so far are the Thunderbolts. Cleaning is not as easy as my ar15 but i found a video how to completely disassemble it.

Where did you order the dual mag holder? I could use one that works with black dog ar22 mags.

This thing is so incredibly fun!
We've put about 500 rounds through it in the last two days and only 1 stove pipe!

Even my girlfriend loves to shoot it.
Her groupings at 16.5 yards are kind of scary good
Made sure she can operate and load everything herself and broke her chicken wing habit.

Heres one of my last groupings at 16.5 yards unsupported with no magnifier.
(The 10 rounds in the shoot-n-c sticker. The others were from earlier shots)

Were you part of the group shooting long guns inside around noon?
My girl and I were on the lanes farthest to the right.

We were there after 3pm. They closed the outside lanes for a "fun shoot BBQ" and inside was at the limit. Alot of .22lr shooters were there with various pistols, even a mosquito seemed to be functioning, a few mkiii shooters too.

No, unfortunately since the magnifier can't be 1/2" away like this.
They are both on correctly.
The long end of the red dot points back not forward like EOTech etc.
It actually only functions one way. No red dot shows if you flip it.

I've really fallen in love with this little rifle.
Going to look into small game hunting soon.
Should be lots of fun and tasty eating too!

Anyone here have some cleaning tips? I learned out to completely disassemble but it's still hard to clean the barrel. Any luck with short brass brushes or advice?

I use http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004DPNUAK/ in all of the calibers I own.
3 sections of metal brushes.

Got my groupings much better too.
It is a certified tack driver.
10 Rounds @ 25 yards with magnifier:

I'm so bad with names.
Last night met a member and his wife at the range.
Let me know who you were again!
Sorry, with the combination of my memory and the ear plugs, it was a losing combination for remembering!

We ran outta ammo right after you showed up, and then there was a sideshow in the lane next to you, after we left firing line

Yea, they were incredibly distracting especially with their cheerleaders screaming.
I actually had to put the guns down and step back a couple times because I didn't know if they were flailing their own guns around.
Not cool at all.

Great meeting you man!

Yea that guy was really strange.
Got very talkative with my girlfriend talking about "bigger guns than that .22"
Sigh. I hate it when people assume that what you have out is all you have, and that it matters in any way.

Looks like a great plinker. How much do they run?

I have a 15/22 and love shooting it, pumping ammo through it is great when you aren't feeling the kick in your wallet.

They're great. Holds zero well.
The magnifier puts a slight blur on the red dot however.
I guess Big 5 had these for a little over $550, but I vultured the Classifieds section for this used one.

I honestly love this plinker to death.
Can't wait to go do some hunting with it in winter.

Huh, Big 5 has them.... hmmmmm Will have to look out for a coupon that includes firearms then. I would never waste money on a 9mm semi auto MP5, especially Cali neutered, so this is the next best thing for sure.

I didn't even see your post about that until now!
I'd love to try out an Appleseed event.

Brought my dad out for our last range day together since they're headed back east this week.

Had a great day and continued to shoot 1/2" groupings at 20 yards unmagnified.
Cannot recommend the HK MP5 enough.

Also met a great guy shooting next to us that let my father and I shoot his Glock match pistol.
What a beautiful shot!

Time to clean the toys.
