Default Looking for firearms training from LEO

Hello, I'm currently a security guard and I'm looking in pursing a career in law enforcement and I was wondering if anyone was around Marin County and would be willing to offer some helpful firearms training at or around Bullseye Range in San Rafael, CA. I already know a little bit but could always use more training. I'm hoping to have someone who is currently working or retired law enforcement. If you would like to help me out please send me a PM. Thanks

- K

If you extend your range a bit, both Stone Cobra and LMS Defense have active duty LEOs and provide very good training.

Go do some IDPA stuff. It will hone the skills you already have and the people around are more than happy to help you. Plus its a blast!

Gotta 2nd Firearms Training Associates....The head instructor is a Senior Patrol Officer and SWAT cop with Huntington Beach PD, adjunct instructor at Gunsite, and head instructor for the Surefire Institute.

I took several classes from him and have been very impressed. That was a bit back in the day and my understanding is that their facilities and training tools are even better now. I know it's a bit of a trip, but might be worth taking a weekend and going.

The academy will teach you everything you need to know and give you plenty of practice. It's actually better going in with a clean slate.

i think the qualifier would be..."if you don't get competent training"

the downside to going in as a competent shooter, is they usually pair you with the "worst" shooter in the class, so you can "help" him
