On the AW registration form it asks for make and model. However wasn't the "Colt Law Enforcement (6920)" on the banned list?

The lower is marked "Colt M4 Carbine". So would he use "LE 6920" as the model or "Colt M4 Carbine"?

All his purchase reciepts say Colt LE 6920 as the model.

Obviously the lower is compliant as it doesn't say "AR-15" or "LE 6920", but the concern is the receipt and box packaging says LE 6920.

Confusing.
What matters is how it's marked on the actual firearm (lower). If it says M4 Carbine, it's GTG.

^ M4 Carbine . . . . the same as is marked on the lower which will be illustrated in one of the required registration photos.

Is he registering a receipt? No

Is he registering a box? No

Its very simple. If his box and receipt had the wrong serial number on it would he try to register it that way?

List whats written on the gun. Anything else will be rejected.

Are you guys taking pictures with buis or forward hand grips?

I told him to keep it Plain-Jane as he can add these later without issue. Is that correct?

My understanding was that you can add anything you want as long as you don't remove anything that is in the picture correct?

Per the DOJ FAQ the things you can not do:
Remove the bullet button style device.
Put of a barrel shorter than 16".'Make your OAL less than 26"

Other changes are legal.

No point of sending them decked out pictures.

So even if a certain style rail or stock is pictured and sent in, you can change those without issue?

I wish you guys would quit pounding on this. You know the DOJ nazis read this forum. The Colt M4 carbine IS a Colt LE6920; Colt changed the rollmark as a phucque you to CA. Leave it alone please. And if the OP wants to register, go ahead and leave the rest of us alone. Thanks.

You are wrong. Colt has never had a rollmarked LE6920. DOJ banned a non model just like the Knight’s RAS (that is a rail) or the numerous Rock Rivers that were never roll marked anything more that the not banned LAR-15.

Colt didn’t change anything to put a middle finger to CA. When the ban list came out the LE6920’s were roll marked “Law Enforcement Carbine” and not the current M4 Carbine.

6940’s, 6920’s, 6921’s, ect are configurations.

That makes sense. I had completely forgotten about the RAS Assault Rail. Haha!
