This 'how to' is great, thanks 69Mach1.
I cut a piece of the plastic tube from the center of a roll of doggie poop bags for my AMD-65. Fit perfect, I think it came out great:

How about this folder? It's one of the Chinese "air gun" stocks which is very similar to the Poly Tech AKS side folding stock.

I welded the stock's trunnion to part of a Romanian rear trunnion. The Air gun's trunnion is slightly narrower so I had to add a bit of metal to each side for a tight fit. I also welded part of the Romanian trunnion to the bottom of the air gun trunnion so there are three rivets holding it to the receiver. Still some cleanup to do also.

I've pondered this for quite a while and the only thing I can think of is drilling a hole in the push button folding mechanism and placing a pin in the hole so the push button will not depress.

Any Ideas?

Drill hole where red arrow is.

What are the laws regarding HOW the stock is pinned? Does it have to be permanent?

No, not "permanent". Just fixed so it cannot fold using the mechanism it came with.

SVT- Good job on the welding and fab.

A roll pin through the button would certainly work. Without handling it and seeing how the button comes out your suggestion would be my vote.

Well I have a Romanian lever style wire folding stock and was looking at the ways posted in this thread on how to pin it and was thinking: can you just put a longer screw in the exposed screw hole (the one not under the dust cover) so that the stock will contact the longer screw and go no further or does the actual action of being able to press a button down to get the stock to fold need to be blocked?

Your way will work. But I would also drill just a small amount into the arm of the stock so the longer screw has something to fit into and is not just relying on the contact between it and the stock it's self to keep the stock from folding.

Buttons don't matter as long as it does not fold even when you try and force it that matters.

Here's one I just did for my Beryl clone last night. Works great!

I'll try the other method I mentioned above on the mini later on...

Awesome writeup. Very inspiring. However any ideas on a stamped receiver? The grip screw nut piece is huge and gets in the way of the hose clamp worm gear :-/

On my example Yugo, the grip nut is installed under the receiver. However, this technique has worked for my standard AKM stamped receiver Under Folders also. If yours is in the way, move the mech. over, replace with a smaller grip nut, replace with a smaller hose clamp, or use zip ties.

i was thinking of this since It worked on 4thscbt's egyptian folder a while back, but didn't want to drill where it would be visible while installed

there is a hole on the underside of the stock that would be a good place to drill and put a pin in to fix it. Minimal damage and never seen when installed on the rifle. It'd also be reversible if you took off the stock too

I like it. Details on the pin please. Im going to give it a try on my build. Did you bend a mill a flat for it to work or was it close to being an off the shelf item?

Thanks.
Pin came from some scrap, heavy duty dry cleaner clothes hanger I think.
Plenty strong enough for this purpose. If it wasn't a Tula 'Krink' I'd make a notch on the inside of the trunnion were the pin hits and let it self lock. Kinda like how the gas tube lock assembly snaps into the rear sight block. Pretty sure that would work nice.
