Volleyball or badminton, or basketball net, looks like. Apply dark first, apply net, shoot lighter coats. Looks good.

Well I krylon'd my first rifle, khaki base, then I just layered sand and OD with grass as a stencil finished with very spare amounts of brown. I took the pictures with my wife's phone and the contrast settings are a little weird on it. The whole rifle looks a lot lighter in person

Pretty sure he goes with a dark coat first then covers with mesh net and goes light...as far as the fancy skull goes I'm thinking he did it by hand or stencil and covered it but I could be wrong

I used a modified sponge camo technique with Aervoe's Earth Brown, Forrest Green, Coyote and Khaki and Rustoleum's Army Green.

I'm amazed at how good some of these recent posted camo jobs look. Here's my first attempt at hydro dipping a long gun, a combination of multicam and snakeskin.

Hey Skystorm. The process is what they call reverse/layered masking (reverse mask because you cover what you paint). You will need an airbrush to do this. Rattle can won't be able to do it. I used the Duracoat MultiColor Camopak. You will need to get lacquer thinner from Home Depot to clean your airbrush. Rubber gloves and a mask. This stuff smells when you paint and dries very quickly. I did it outside on my patio during the summer. You want all the items to be warm to the touch to get the super flat look. You can also read up on Duracoat's website on how to get a matte finish.

1 - Copy all the patterns in Multicam - large, small, extra large patterns onto blue masking tape sheet. You make the blue masking tape sheet by taking wax paper and covering it in the blue masking tape. Trace the patterns and cut them out. You will end up with 3 stencil sizes like your Multi-cam. Doesn't have to be perfect but it needs to reflect the size and "shapes" that you'd see.

2 - Degrease and disassemble your rifle down to components. I left the upper/lower receiver together and the handguard on. I painted the barrel separately in FDE high temp paint (up to 1,500 degrees it can take). I masked over the barrel and left the forward rail on. I took off the stock and painted that separately.

3 - Spray the light color (stone) first in the areas you want to have it shown and cover the sprayed areas with the smallest stencils you created.

4 - Spray the dark brown over a larger % of the rifle components and then mask them with the medium sized stencils you created. Notice that the dark brown almost always appears right next to the light stone color. You can verify this on your Multicam clothing.

5 - Now take 2 greens that you have and do a large swath and fade it in the same direction in parallel. Do one color and then another color. / / <- like that alternating between the two.

6 - Use the super large mask that you have and cover the areas of cross fade. This is very important because you don't want any more colors with hard outlines like the Stone / Dark Brown. Your rifle components should be nearly covered in the blue masks now except for say 30%.

7 - Take the 2 remaining "brownish" colors and cross fade in parallel lines in the OPPOSITE direction you did the greens. I should mention that you could reverse the steps in 6/7 with color if you want more green or more brown. Now do it like this -> \ \. One color then change color. It should alternate.

8 - Now remove all the tape and it should look like real Multicam. Takes about a day and one angry wife because the oven smells like paint!

This guy on YouTube does a pretty good walk through. http://youtu.be/vPKrJrM4EqY. There's no need to paint over your entire rifle like he did because it waste paint and gets really thick. But you have to cover enough so that you don't run short of where you want the stencil spots to be. Hopefully that makes sense.

Now note. You need to let the Duracoat dry between colors 2 - 3 hrs. I chose to stick it in the oven at 200 for 30 minutes. I also warmed the parts to 150 before hitting them outside. You don't want it so hot that the paint dries right when it hits the object. But hot enough so that it doesn't take forever to dry (if that happens, it will be glossy).

Hope this helps. I'll probably Multicam another rifle. Kryptec is too hard and I haven't figured out how to do it yet.

Enjoy. I think it came out at lease as good as the hydro-dipped stuff.

My first attempt. Pretty fun to do. I do need to dust the front Aimpoint cover a little bit.
