All I got was a glock 20sf that I spruced up with some zev internals. It is my favorite gun right now

H&K P2000 v2 (converted to v1) LEM 9mm
H&K USP v1 9mm
H&K VP9 LE Grey (gifted from my parents and I took possession on 12/30)

I also pieced together a side charging 9mm carbine with a Gibbz Arms receiver set.

I haven't shot the VP9 or the 9mm carbine yet but will hopefully do so tonight.

WOW! That's 83 guns purchased in a period of 365 days. I know you can only buy 12 of those new so the other 71 has to be through PPT.

What I don't understand is why did you only get 5 positive iTrader ratings for the entire year of 2017? You should have at least another 60+ positive iTrader rating if most of those people took the time to post it.

Congrats on your awesome acquisitions.

I don't even remember the last time someone mentioned iTrader to me during a PPT. Maybe one person last year? Most people aren't into it or want to fly below the radar.

Also, I bought guns in batches from the same sellers. According to my spreadsheet, I bought 53 handguns in 2016. The increase in 2017 was due to three largish group buys. Each involved 6-13 handguns on one DROS from one seller.

Madoka, I would love to see a separate thread with detailed photos of your Glock cutaways and am interested in what they cost. Ive never seen any for sale, but would love to pick one up too someday. Did they still have to be drosed as firearms, or are they considered deactivated? Take care. I hope 2018 brings you another banner year of collecting.

Best new: CZ75 SP-01
Best Used: Tie between my two favorite pistols and luckiest acquisitions: An off-roster M&P 9L (Ported with new Apex barrel & internals); or a $700 Dan Wesson CBob from the range. Honorable mention to my lightly used S&W 686SSR laser-pointer.

My New Year's Resolutions for 2018 include a new Sig226 (purchased at the Sig Academy along with some training)

Your large purchases make me feel better that DOJ/ATF does not generally care about about large amounts of guns bought. I commonly buy 40 or so guns a year including multiple handgun pruchases and so far no trouble.

I have known 2-3 people that got contacted about multiple sales or multiple handguns. I have been selling more than buying in 2018 though due to an impending move out of CA. I am also not roster exempt. I should keep better track of what I buy and spend a year but I'm lazy. I'm picking up 4 guns in next two days. 3 are handguns. Got 2 last week and am getting 2 next week.

Best new purchase of 2017? My Kimber K6S .357 Magnum revolver. Hands down the best snub nosed compact wheelgun I've ever owned.

Best used purchase of 2017? I finally filled a long standing wish to own a Heckler & Koch P9S in .45 ACP. She's near mint, came with all the goodies, and even got spare magazines in the deal.

Shadow 2, easily one of the best new guns being produced.

I bought lots of ammo, none of it used. Can't buy any cool **** here at a reasonable price. Although I have had my eyes on a G29SF, but firing 10 rounds of 10mm in self defense makes my ears hurt just thinking about it.

Sorry that I'm in free state (always feel a little guilty about posting stuff like this, I didn't check the Roster to see if ok in CA)) but these are my non C&R purchases in 2017. The top two total was less than $600 for both including the transfer fees. All three have adjustable sights, which I need due to vision issues.

14 rds all steel function tested at the range, very comfortable to shoot, will try for scores next time. My new likie other than my 1911's, I like it more than the 9mm below.

17rds polymer frame metal slide, functions fine, shorter bbl and lighter weight not quite as comfortable as the 45acp above.

Wanted a swingout with interchangeable 22/22mag calibers so I got this. Wasn't about to shoot my M651 again! This 992 feels actually a little heavier than my Taurus m927 357mag. Haven't shot it yet though.

I'll be gifting (handing) my XD9 to my daughter or son-in-law!

I'm actually going to add to my Hi Point collection when I move. I need the one with the Benjamin's type finish and also the non roster 40 and 45 versions. I have a old 45 version I picked up PPT. I also casually collect rarer ring of fire guns.

I have a Jennings Boys rifle and a Sundance Point Blank both are rare.

Actually I have seen a number of Hi Points, pistols and carbines selling here in LGS's in NM. Mostly ordered from Gun Genie (have to pay sales tax) or Buds (no sales taxes) and the 15-25 buck transfer fees(some stocking item "They really don't care about snobbish attitudes plus any thing "legal for CA" is next to worthless here is as far as resale what I've been told. Except a few items like the Polytech M14s I just sold to a CA resident, It would have sold for $300 more here but I'm still trying to help you guys in Kommiefornica! C&R's are the same everywhere it seems. With Garands routinely hitting the top of the list for cost.

Thanks for that... I think the 'snob' dealers are the ones that think the whole damn state is liberal. True we are surround by them, but there are a lot of died in the wool 2nd Amendment Conservative believers in the state and there's not a lot we can do about what the gooberment does. We're chipping away at the inane laws, but it takes forever to get things erased by legal action. Meanwhile a few of those out of state dealers think they are punishing California by not selling guns to us. Go figure...

Some of those Out of state FFL's are of the mind set "they don't want to give CA DOJ their info" so they don't bother with the CFLC program as a form a punishment. I was able to "educate" a few when I showed them "their" FFL number and all info is public knowledge and readily available on the ATF website. It is???? Yes it is???? Anyone could probably photo shop a seemingly valid FFL if they really tried. Anyway I was actually thanked by several out of state FFLs for the information and in the 5 min it took them to signup for the CFLC program it opened a whole new market for them. So they could make more $$$$$!

I bought exactly two handguns last year. One new one used.
New Browning Buckmark with fiber optic sights.
Used Walther PP in 7.65 mm made in either 1963 or 64, bought from a cool guy here in the CGN marketplace.

I forgot to mention that I've visited or dealt with 4 LGS's here in ABQ, NM in the last 10 months and they all ship to CA, although they charge a little more for the extra paperwork.

C&R's are the same everywhere it seems. With Garands routinely hitting the top of the list for cost.
Why would a Chinese M14 sell for more in NM? And yes is a common fallacy believed by many CGNers that guns are always cheaper and easier to find in other states. This does not apply to all classes of guns.

FFL's that think their info and address is secret are funny.

I've turned a few that sell on GB in the past. I look at it this way, if they refuse to apply for the CFLC I don't want to do biz with them in the first place, and if they want to turn their backs on a huge potential gun buying market they don't know much about running a business.... I personally think the CFLC system is the only good idea they've come up with in all the BS that's come out of CalGov....

I also had a somewhat busy 2017. I mostly concentrated on getting a few guns to either fill some gaps in the collection or bought ones that were too good a deal to pass up.

1917 Colt 1911
1918 Colt 1911

Colt M45A1

CZ75 pre "B".

Beretta 92FS LNIB. Qualifies as one of those deals that was too good to pass up.

ac44 code P38 with original holster and extra magazine.

Astra 400 made in 1942, For $175 I felt that I couldn't just walk away from it.

WWII S&W Victory Model

S&W .455 MkII, 1917 British contract.

Colt 1991, another "too good a deal to pass up".

Glock 19 NIB with 4 15 round mags. No pics, it looks like every other Glock

This is not a storage site unless you pay the $$, but it is a free 3rd party hosting site. I use it with no problems.

I have not been a hostage to Photobucket's extortion for over 3 months.

I don't know why a Polytech M14s would sell for $1000 here in NM but they do, the identical one to the one I just sold to a CA resident was on a LGS rack at $1000 and the new Springfield's were right next to it at $1500 and much above, guess which one sold first and at $1000? Maybe people just like forged receivers? I dunno.
Somebody paid $1400 for an unmarked wood, worn WRA receivered Garand, no Garand's at that LGS less than $1400! And the only Garands I've seen here. They also had 4-6 M1 Carbines at $800 (none were anything special) and above, the only ones left are the 2 commercial variety.
M1917's $995, 03's 8-900 Bucks, Beat to crap Ishapore Enfield $600ish and No 4 Enfield $700, they seem to be gone when I make my rounds again so somebody is paying their prices. They have a pile of C&R handguns but I'm not desperate enough to pay their prices.

Ya been way too busy and an great collection also.
That Astra would run $400 here in NM at least that is the price I've seen on them here.

Well. I wanted to post my very LNIB wilson tactical supergrade found right here on CG for a very good price. After reading Madoka's post, I think I will just leave quietly.

Greetings from the semi-free Washington State!

Just thought I would toss a tiny wrench into this thread and intrude.

I am 65 with bad eyes and on a fixed SS income, so I get to buy one gun per year, maybe.

This is a Pietta Italian replica copy of a Confederate BP C&B pistol that was originally copied from a Colt 1851 Navy .36.

It is a Leech and Rigdon with a steel color-cased frame, brass backstrap and trigger guard, smooth non-roll-engraved cylinder and a part octagon/part round barrel. Only 1500 originals were produced during the American Civil War.

I put it together using spare parts purchased in 2017 using a Pietta 1851 Navy .36 replica. I have about $250 into it.

I have many other 1851 Navy .36 "type" pistols in my ACW collection but I doubt there is any interest here.

Federal law does not consider these guns as firearms and they can be shipped to most states USPS. I have no idea what the Kalifornia DOJ has to say about this.

I have visited the CalGuns "Curio & Relic/Black Powder" forum on occasion but there seems to be no interest at all for BP guns there. It is all about C&R.

I would bet that 99 and 44/100% of CalGunners have no clue about this.

G'Day!

Jim

DOJ doesn't care either, at this point as long as it doesn't use cartridge ammo. And Black powder threads do come up on Cal guns C&R Forum so "post away"!
I got my "Sheriffs Model 1858" direct to my door while still in CA from Cabelas. I see in their new catalog they don't even list that model any longer, only the long bbl model.
