Default Glock, Sig, Taurus out of California

Just got off the phone with my sales rep at Jerry's. He made the statement that Glock, Sig, and Taurus will not renew their guns on the roster. Anyone else hear that?

I doubt it. If they continue to produce them, why wouldn't they keep selling them to the market? It makes no financial sense to stop.

Now the CA DOJ has announced that American made Glocks are not on the roster. That is getting more and more interesting.

Yeah, got the same thing from RSR and Davidsons. WTF is going on?

On the DOJ site "No Glock handguns made in the USA have been approved as of: Thursday, February 21, 2013"

Hypothetically... what would happen if a dealer sold Glocks that were marked USA on them, perhaps before this announcement was made or if he did not see the notice on the Roster site?

Well, most are still on the roster. So I would think as soon as they fall off the roster the dealer is screwed. The roster does not differentiate between US and Austrian made except for the new header.

My .02 cents. I have 2 US made Glocks in DROS right now and they are still on the rosters. Will see what the state says.

If he did it before the notice was posted, should be good. If he claims he did not see the notice, and it was there......SOL

Or where this notice was posted? I havent heard a peep of that from any of our reps at all.

We spoke with the CA Glock guy at the Show, and no mention of any of this was made. Same with Sig (they were happy to take our orders...)

Looking at the list of handguns certified for sale in California, unless I'm looking in the wrong location; most Glocks are good through this year, with the earliest expiration date I saw being April 2013.

I made a thread about this a while ago and got blasted by a few members calling it FUD. They were quick to dismiss it and a little insulting. Then my thread got locked. Wonder if any of them want to recant their pearls of wisdom on this subject? Looks to be there is something to what I had asked a while back.

Heres the DOJ link http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/ Pick Glock in the search than read the BOLD RED print!

I heard this from the Glock reps at an Armorers course back in December. Didn't plan to do anything about it until the official word was released.

The problem is most of the Glocks produced in Austria are sold out. The available ones now are produced in the US. The expiration on the list my not have taken effect, the cut off in supply has.

Notice or no notice, the DROS form requires that you select country of origin. If this was roster specific it should be automatically populated.

This is being discussed in several threads and personally I believe it is a case of DOJ overstepping boundaries and making things up as they go along.

The comparisons are being made to beretta and sigs that also have dual origins and are covered by one roster listing.

I sold several USA marked G19's back in January and I don't foresee having any issues.

I doubt it with 6 guns and $2400 that isn't much compared to how fast the Glocks are flying off the racks. Why would a company that is making good money in California, things not staying in stock so back order give up a entire market?

I have also heard that a lot of citizens like to buy what Law Enforcement is carrying so Sig Glock, etc would open California up to another company to get rich here and become a bigger threat

NO glocks made in the "USA" are on the CA Roster.

The only way to buy a "USA" Glock is to SSE it

From the Roster website

"No Generation 4 Glock handguns have been approved as of: Monday, March 04, 2013

No Glock handguns made in the USA have been approved as of: Monday, March 04, 2013"

I spoke with one of reps about Glock, and asked him to call his guy and ask. Absolutely, no chance, in hell, Glock is leaving CA. To quote him.....

Then why aren't the 4 Gen Glocks getting onto the approved sales roster? I actually want a Sig M11-A1 without the SSE crap. God I hate the Republic of Kalifornia.

No Gen 4 Glock can be on the roster in CA. They were "newly designed" models and would need a magazine disconnect to be approved if I'm not mistaken

That is exactly why. The gun grabbers are winning because they pass these things that slowly take away our guns. When the list first published, as long as it passed the safety test, it was approved. Then they started adding non-safety measures to it like loaded chamber indicators, magazine disconnects, and micro stamping technology. None of that improves safety, but decreases the number of guns for sale.

We are litigating this though, so be patient.

Hey tenpercentfirearms, What is your insight on the hold up on the Sigs? I am hoping that the new M11-A1 gets approved, soon.

Thanks d_c_mar and tenpercentfirearms for the info. Reading this forum made me realized how corrupted the State of California has become since Gray Davis took office. The approved handgun list has nothing to do with safety, it all about paying the politicians in Sactown a bribe to allow people the the right to exercise their 2nd Amendment. They should the save taxpayers' money and by following federal regulations.
