Default Gauging interest: bulk ammo

Not really sure where to post, I know I can’t post in the for sale section without stating the price.

I work with a recycling center in Hayward and they asked if I can sell their live rounds. It’s a mix of popular calibers, pretty much the rental gun calibers

These rounds come from local shooting ranges and seem to be in good shootable condition.

I don’t know if I should separate them or sell by the pound or what.

Let me know if anybody is interested.

I wouldn't because of the liability issues. I'm pretty sure a company would have to be licensed to sell ammo too.

If you listed them as-is, to be broken down for component use only you might have something.

Just start buying guns and deal with the problem on your own.

Are all these rounds from the floor? Rage carp?

Unless you have a 3 million dollar insurance policy, I would sell for components only

Buy a bullet puller. Spend the next five years separating brass and bullets. Sell clean primed brass and bullets. No one wants to buy someone’s hot load. (That sounded wrong).

Es basura. You'd have to have a serious screw loose to sell or shoot any of that.

Thanks for all the input. I don’t think I’m going to get involved with it.

It never crossed my mind that it would be unsafe to shoot

I would shoot it, that doesn't scare me at all.

There's a bunch of rimfire in there too and its not reloaded.

I’m not buying that some hand loader just left all his barrel burner reloads on the ground...to be picked up later.

I would say these are likely 100% factory loaded ammo. As far as selling it, nah I probably woundn’t. Too much liability.

I would separate all the calibers and see just how many you have. It looks from the pictures, a few 223/556. 9m etc. See if you can find out if there reloaded or not?
Otherwise if GTO head to the range.

All ammo must go thru vendor or ffl now in ca and I doubt anyone would touch that for liability reasons.

Sort into caliber groups and sell AS COMPONENTS ONLY.
Someone at a local gun show in Arizona was selling ammo that way with range leftovers.
He said HE would NOT shoot anything on his table, but was 100% good with selling as components.

There is a buck to be made IF CA still approves of it.

Redneck roulette is where you just toss live ammo into the fire. No gun needed!

Lets see .. at a glance i see dimpled primers on live rounds, stovepiped .22's, corroded and punctured cartridges, cases with primers not fully seated etc

Sure maybe a good % may be viable, but even one bad one makes the liability way too high. The recycle joint is nuts to offer as such

Ground pickups or someone else reloads are a no go if you value your eyes , hands, firearms

It is worth a low scrap price, lot of work to process all that

I offer a crisp $20 dollar bill

Haha yea. It's just a joke more than anything. It's funny to picture a bunch of rednecks sitting around a fire with rounds shooting out of it.
