Default Credit Card with Cash back

Hi, guys just wanted to share with people that are in the market to get a credit card.

Chase Sapphire Preferred

Pro’s:
SHARE THE REWARDS. Each friend will receive an offer for 50,000 bonus points after they spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. (50,000 points can be used to get $500 cash)

“Con’s”: $100 yearly fee, BUT 1st year is free and you can cancel after that, I had this card 3 years and got it again no damage to credit score.

My referral link
https://www.referyourchasecard.com/6/1OZK0K5FID

Chase Freedom

Share the rewards. Every friend who is approved for the card will get a $150 bonus after spending $500 on purchases within the first 3 months from account opening.

Pro’s: Up to 5% but every 3 months they change what you can get cash back on.
at least 1.5% cash back
No Annually cost

Cons: Nothing really, I have had this card for like 7 years.

My referral link
https://www.referyourchasecard.com/2/W1K18MP6O4

I get 10,000 points for each referral (I guess you can say its $100 per person) Up to $500 total so 5 people for each card.

I donated last years $500 of my referral money to my class, which we helped raise over $23,000 as a whole for the Los Angeles Children's Hospital

http://connect.chla.org/site/TR/DIY/...nal&fr_id=1090

Not sure what the other class will do next semester but I'll put my referral money in cryptocurrency and take a gamble since other people did not want to risk the money last semester

I have the chase freedom and capital one quicksilver. Both offer 1.5% cash on all purchases. Been pretty good to me, especially if you get the bonus for spending the alloted amount in the first few months

If you are a Fidelity customer - you can get the Fidelity card which gives you 2% back on all purchases.

Or get the 2% Citi double cash and you don't need to open a Fidelity account

Charles schwabb American express 1.5%, their debit allows atm withdrawals with zero fees. Great for whentravellers or those that just want to withdraw from the closest atm near them regardless of which bank it belongs to.

I've got the chase Amazon rewards card, which gives 5% back on Amazon purchases, 2% back on gas and restaurants, and 1% back on all other purchases... No annual fee.

I buy things from Amazon 2-5 times a month, I'm happy with this one

This is my go to card. They also have the price rewind program. Bought a gun and found it cheaper? You fill s form out and they pay the difference back.

If more folks would say No to annual fees, they would soon go away for most folks.

Also my go-to card. Citi is much more generous with their credit limits too IME (better for your overall credit utilization and thus credit score). I've also used price rewind many times.

It should as long as it's advertised and you can prove it's the same. I've done it with a computer and a firearm..you can always read the terms on the program. I did this a while back and I'm sure they revise them over time.

Both chase and discover have good 5% categories like gas or groceries plus discover matches all cash back earned first year.

Another great, if not better, perk is their price match protection. I just got discover to price match a 700$ scope down to 270 off some small vendor in NY.

I'm sure it wont work for ammo through either discover or chase(I've asked) can't remember which pretty sure it's both. They consider it a form of perishable and is specifically mentioned in the fine print exclusions.

At a cost....95 a year. First year waived. Are you going to cancel the card prior to year 2?

Good catch, Yes I cancelled but not before I combined my points with my wife's new account. I may reapply or roll them into my daughters account then start the cycle over again. If you cancel at month 13 they waive the fee.

This is my primary card, and works especially well for me cuz I buy everything possible on Amazon. Plus if you have a Chase savings account, you can just transfer your rewards dollars directly to your savings account when redeeming. Great way to build savings

Amazon used to have the best prices, but it's hit or miss now. I have the card too (actually metal which is annoying if going through detectors). Now when I buy something I cross check against ebay. EBay seller fees are less and I have found better prices and avoid the extortion tax soon to be 10%.
