What is a good red dot scope to get?
Hey guys,
so I was thinking about mounting a red dot scope on my saiga 7.62, but dont know much about them. I had originally thought about just mounting a green laser/light, but this is probably the better option. Do they have ones that work at night? I wouldn't plan on shooting past 300 yards, any recomendations? and how much do they cost? thanks!

A red dot scope will work fine at night - you just won't be able to see your target.
Price range for a red dot runs $40 and up. Tell us how much are you willing to spend and you'll get some recommendations.

Pretty sure Maries could hit 200 yards with a full bladder of piss, I was in the army...what do you recomend? (God I wish there was a can of worms smiley face) call for fire? Request Marine support?

Depends on your budget and 200 yards with a dot is pretty easy. On my zombie killer I have an EOTech with BUIS. On everything else, it's a variable powered scope.
The current scope on the 3-Gun rifle is a Meopta. On a Saiga and you're not planning on shooting past 300 (good idea) you have a lot of options for less than $500. Rich

I know this is a dumb question but whats the difference, other than where it mounts, between the red dots that mount like a traditional scope VS the ones that are mounted closed to the front of the barrel? Is it just where you want to mount it?
