New to this forum, & Becoming a gun owner
Waiting for my new Commifornia REAL-ID with my new address to show up in the mail, so I can go up to the gun shop & Buy my “Gen3 Glock26 OD Green” as my very 1st gun purchase. As I need it to be small enough to take with me on my backcountry bowhunts, & to keep it in my bedroom drawer incase of intruders. But what I love about the G26 is that it’s Double-Stack thickness fits my hand very nice, as well as can get wet & dirty on my hunts & not take up too much room in my pack when in the backcountry Bowhunting.
Anyways, I have been reading a couple forums on this site & learn so much, & am so happy my good friend & long time member “JMed” got me on to Calguns.net🤘 Thanks for having a place like this for like minded 2nd Amendment Loyalists to talk & share ideas!! Infinitely Grateful🤙 |

Really appreciated. You guys are awesome!
Quick update: my REAL-ID w/New address came in today, which means tomorrow at opening I’ll be at the shop filling out paperwork for my “G26 OD Green”. Then the 10 days of waiting. Not a fan of that, but hey, I’m just ready to get this process started already Again, thanks for being awesome guys! |

Good morning eonline3, welcome to Calguns. Since the Gen 4 is not on the roster you may have to wait a while to find the right deal on a PPT. Have you considered getting a Gen 3 to start with?

You can buy certain Glocks made in Austria but not the identical Glock made in the USA. Gen3 Glocks are listed by sku number, but no Gen4 or Gen5 Glocks are approved for sale as they do not have magazine disconnects, loaded chamber indicators or microstamping. You can buy and own Gen4 or Gen5 Glocks if you moved to CA and already owned one, are roster exempt or buy one in a face to face private party transaction from someone who owns one. The "off roster" guns usually sell for well above the free state going price because of supply and demand. By the way, do you have your firearms safety certificate yet? One will be required to buy a firearm in CA. If none of this makes sense then that means you're sane. |

New Calgunner: Silence Dogood
Hello. I've joined CGN for three reasons:
1) I picked up my first firearm two and a half decades ago in BSA, have owned one for over a decade, yet only recently decided to acquire a semi-auto centerfire rifle--featureless, obviously--and I welcome the wisdom to be gained from others' successes and failures in doing so in CA as described here on the boards. 2) I look forward to building commraderie with other like minded individuals who respect the 2A and the people it was written to protect, we the citizens of this nation. 3) Stormfeather's post about Stewardship struck a chord within me as, hopefully, it will/does/has within you. |

Hello. Just another young Marine Corps vet here. Back home for a little while where things are familiar.
Resident to Socal for the time being. Desperately searching for better connections to move out of CA for good, and jumping through hoops of fire in the meantime to enjoy my passion. |
