how much discount for a damaged gun safe

local place has a dented gun safe for sale lots of them are damaged in shipping. this particular model is normally $500 on sale for $450 and they offered another $50 off for the damage. Damage is on the top corner, seems easy to fix with some hammer dolly work and about 2" weld along the seam.

I'm not sure if the inside panels are easily removed or if it is double walled?

Also $50 doesn't seem worth the hassle.........

There's your answer.

I wouldn't even consider one that needed welding for a $50 discount, as it will then need painting. Different story if you were planning to buy one and gut it, beef it up, paint it completely, and replace the interior.

I saved 25% (~ $500) on a large Liberty safe because it had a crap paint job on the back. No problem as it's bolted thru it's back wall to 2x6's and the concrete garage floor. In an OCD moment, I wire brushed the back, had the paint matched in 3 spray cans, primed it and sprayed the color. Less than a day's work and simple. It has the same oem guarantee.

Every dealer has factory 2nd's. Sometimes they're advertised and sometimes not. Get yourself a a few wait lists.
