If someone can help me here, Section 3 of AB48 states that Section 1.5 of AB48 only is effective if both AB48 **and** SB396 become effective. Since SB396 was crushed, doesn't that de-ball Section 1.5 of AB48, which I read to be the worst part of it. Any enlightenment would be greatly appreciated.

To the person that is upset by AB711 and has $$$Thousands of ammo, the lead ammo ban affects only hunters. If you are that bad a shot that you need so much ammo kill one deer, perhaps you need more practice at the local gun range, where you will still get to shoot as much lead as you desire. Hunting does not require a lot of ammo unless, as I said, you are a lousy shot or you are "over-hunting" which has been illegal for a long time.

Yes, that is well detailed in this forum.

I don't think you quite understand the situation. Not that I do completely, but not everyone hunts only a single animal. If you hunt just about everything, that could be a lot of ammo.

Artema, thank you for your response. You are right. I'm not a hunter and do not fully understand the implications. I really should not have voiced an opinion on something on which I am totally unfamiliar. I apologize to the forum and to all CA hunters.

Nah, this is the internet too. I talk about stuff all the time, and you weren't rude about it!

Question Also confused on grandafthered magazines

I'm confused, too. Will grandfathered magazines still be allowed to possess after passage of AB 48, since SB 396 did not pass? Lawyers up!

Thanks,
Will

This will only make it so you can't buy rebuild kits. Not sure when it will kick in.

.........................................................

So far folks their is NOTHING to celibate! Far Left Democrats in Socialist California are slowly chipping away our gun rights. Look what we have now on the books....

1. Cannot open carry anymore.

2. Magazine law still in effect and now harder to have if you have magazines that can be change from ten rounds to 30...

3. Still stuck on using on 10 rounds magazine.

4. Still have the stupid bullet button on all so called Assault Rifles.

5. Ban on rounds (bullets) that are not lead free by 2015. They say its for hunting only but Far Left Anti-gun advocates politicians can put a Amendment to ban all lead ammo to all.

6. Extends time period for background checks.

Bit by bit Socialist California is slowly chipping away our gun rights. If this continue and we truly do become a one party State (Where are the Republicans???) in 5 years California will be just like either England or Australia. Remember that Gov Moonbeam is not always going to be Governor folks.

I wish the NRA or some other organization to take Socialist California to the Supreme Court and end theses corrupt unlawful laws... If this don't happen and California becomes another England... Than I will move to a FREE State.

Bears that lack short arms tend to exhibit higher rates of celibacy than the bear population in general.

So what exactly happens now with the bills that got vetoed? Don't they get voted on again, and if they have a 2/3 majority they become law anyway?

Is no one concerned about SB 47, the bullet button ban bill? It has not been signed or veto'd from what I understand.

Takes a special effort by the leaders of the Senate and the Assembly to get together for a veto override vote. This is pretty unusual, not a SOP. It's not happening this year. They probably figure they don't have the votes and it would be a waste of time.

SB 47 died in the Legislature. Never came to Gov Brown's desk.

Last action: 08/30/13 Hearing postponed by committee.
