Are my eyes playing tricks on me or is the browning significantly smaller than the 1911?

Nope its 85% to scale. Just like it's big daddy, but smaller. Everything from the way it comes apart is identical to full size 1911.

Ooooo, so very nice!!!

I shall edit that one for you, give me a few minutes .

Edit: Done!

Another inexpensive studio thing to try as suggested in another thread is a softbox.

Made that with a cardboard box and toilet paper. Cut holes out on the sides and cut out the bottom. Throw your large contruction white paper in there with the top up against the back top curving at the back end and coming out straight. You just need lights on all sides there is an opening and you will have pretty much a solid lighting source for small objects like handguns.

I made that softbox over 10 years ago though. I have studio flash units now and light modifiers which makes the softbox unnecessary for me. With about 1000 combined watts of light, I can make night look like it was day lol.

Whaa....that is pretty darn cool. It is a 45ACP as well? Is that a carry model 1911?

Nope it's a 22 LR. A lot cheaper to shoot!

Crummy iPhone picture with some terrible Lightroom editing. Don't have a camera nor much photo editing skills.

Springfield 1911 Loaded. Parkerized finish, which is the obvious bit.

My Springfield GI. I have to say, the "US" grip are lame. They've been replaced by GI grips

Naw, it most likely he linked the wrong link into the img code. It won't show up unless it is actually a photo.

Alrighty, got all four of them done Colt 1911. I took the liberty to also fix any major scratches on the firearm. I also made it look as if the tape you put on the last one didn't exists. When I photograph my guns, I typically photoshop out the serial so I don't need to cover it up. I must say, it was a little challenge to get those curves and lines straight, but I got it done. Enjoy

See on the last one got rid of the tape. Did a similar job on mine.

Yah. The grain and color of the originals are way better.

That Rock Island is one 1911 that will definitely put the fear of you-know-who into the bad guys!

Thanks for the comments on my Ed Brown grips. I agree the dark colors and contrast look better on that all-black Exec Target. Problem is the finish, which is hard to see in the pictures. Ed puts such a thick shiny finish on his grips, they look like plastic to me. So, I thought I'd try grips that look more like my Colt Gold Cup's. I may go back to the original grips though. Anyway, more pix coming soon.

Just one of my 1911's -- about 500rds thru her and still ridiculously tight. This pistol made me realize how much work I need to put into my fundamentals to really maximize the weapon's potential...
