This course will teach students the basic principles to effectively engage and disable a deadly force threat by reinforcing basic pistol shooting fundamentals as well as introduce the student to defensive shooting, basic tactical skills, handgun/equipment manipulation, malfunction drills, empty gun and tactical reloading, target selection, verbal commands and a basic introduction to the effects of stress and adrenaline on the shooter.

PRICE: $40 YES! FORTY!! (Range fee included in price)
All students who show up can sign up for a 1 year standard NRA membership/renewal for $25 plus an instant $10 cash back making the total price $15!!

We will also be giving out 1 FREE one year NRA standard membership or renewal in a drawing at the end of class if the class gets full.

$40 is our special introductory price. Normal price is $120.

LOCATION: Sacramento Valley Shooting Center

TOTAL AMOUNT OF SLOTS: 6 (per class)

-Must already have basic firearm knowledge or have completed a safety course such as NRA Basic or First Steps Pistol.

-IDPA/USPSA/IPSC experience is a plus.

-Military basic training, police academy, armed security experience meets and exceeds this.

Additional handgun safety
Handgun familiarization
Handgun and magazine maintenance/care
Gear and placement
Drawing from the holster
Fundamentals of marksmanship
Interview position
Challenge and verbal commands
Malfunctions; immediate and remedial action drills
Empty gun and tactical reloads
Intro to basic stressful weapons manipulation
Intro to reactionary gap
Rapid shot placement and its importance
Decision making

Defensive handgun (.22 caliber conversion kits for Glocks, etc or SIG Mosquitos are fine.)
300 rounds of ammunition
3 magazines
Holster (Belt or thigh ONLY)
Magazine pouches
Belt or chest rig capable of supporting all gear
Snap caps/dummy rounds (if you don’t have any, email us)
Ear and eye protection
