I'm going out to SP on Thursday, I'll take some pictures and give and update on how it looks. If you see the "Don't Tread On Me" flag, stop by and say hi.

If the winds die down I may be going Thursday also, I always go to the backside and will be in the Green F150! I'll look for you and your flag!

Backside of the hill doesn't look that messy. If we could go to the back passed the mine shaft on the 25th, we should be able to get a couple of spots cleaned as well as securing some good locations for us to shoot afterwards. I'm for the game of let's clean as far back as possible then work our way to the entrance. Hopefully if we can get out once a month as a group and clean in the back it won't be that bad come summer time, I think less people travel to the backside. The entrance is going to take what we did last march.....100+ people and a roll off.

I agree with you CM! I was across from the mine shaft on xmas eve and not that much trash was on the backside. My guess is that the more responsible and safe shooters go back there, while the lazy, unsafe, dirtbags stay upfront!

BTW as it takes a full hour and a half just to get there, I'll be not so tastefully late.... We'll be looking for a group with rakes, etc. As we've never been there before this should be fun.

I spoke with pure00r last night and we'll be focusing on the backside this cleanup, it'll also be safer for us since most of the unsafe ID10T shooters only go to the easy to get to front spots.

I hope you are bringing a truck as most cars cannot make it to the back areas. We also will hangout and shoot after we clean!

I do not have HAM, but most areas there do get cell reception (at least I do with Verizon).

I have my Ham License, I always carry my handheld when I go out. I also have a small antenna for my truck I use sometimes too if need be. I can get several repeaters out there.Ham radio is the best form of communication in my book. I was out there yesterday and had cell phone service all day, I have ATT service. It was a perfect day out at SP yesterday, didn't see many people out there.

I will be there. Tacitblue might also join me.

I will probably focus on the front end with my magnet plunger and buckets, rakes, shovel. would love to buy one of these giant magnetic sweepers from Harbor Freight but have zero coin right now.

In case you've never been, the front can be a lil scary on a weekend. Being an "unofficial" cleanup we wont have BLM making it a cold range as we did on our last official cleanup!

Bring some of those shirts to sell and you should make some coin!

We'll look forward to seeing you out there next Sunday!

Ah, this is very true.

That whole front spot is where I worked the last Official cleanup put on by Eat Dirt and shortly thereafter they closed the spot to shooting, though you would think it was open considering no one pays attention to those signs. The dirt parking lot area, the base of the hill area behind the signs, and the creek are spots where I can do some good while staying clear of the mayhem. If not, I go in where I usually shoot and fill bags as I always do, but instead of devoting 30-60mins to cleanup, we'll do 120min +

I doubt I'll bring any swag out there, I like to shoot. Though I have been know to giveaway some stickers, but I try to leave people alone, that's why we are all out there. Some weekends/days there are good folk with an understanding for safety & respect for a firing line, other times, not so much.

Lastly, does anyone know where I can get a good deal on a plastic corrugate sign 22"h x 17"w?

The head BLM LEO ranger informed me that that there is no vending from BLM land and it is a ticket-able offence. We had special permission just to have the Calguns booth for information only..... just sayin so people don't get in trouble.

That's probably what they told bullseye employees before they left, even though they were just soliciting with flyers. On the march clean up.... Thanks for that info

Hi chknlyps! I'd think "vending" would mean setting up a display of products for sale. We could purchase in the street, off BLM land. Or the seller could give it to someone and be receive a donation on BLM land... that wouldn't be vending. LOL!

For those that haven't seen it yet, there is a thread for the Riverside CGSSA monthly shoot.... I need shooters interested in attending. This would be the first shoot since last Aug!!! Let's get some names on there, I've almost got all the details for the event.....everything will be set come Friday or before. Follow the link and leave a comment.

Shouldn't be much traffic, but that is a drive coming from LA. Drive safe and see you there.

May have to work Sunday, but if not, I can bring shovels/rake/big 4wd truck...

Can someone PM me directions from North SD county? (I'll be heading up the 15)

Thx!

As much as I want to go, I cant make it this Sunday.

As far as keeping the range cold. My suggestion is to run some caution tape tied to to orange construction cones. I just picked up 2 roles of it at the swap meet for camping/shooting and range clean ups
