Carrying three guns is the max for me. If I had to carry 2 more that would be like 12 lbs in guns and that just get's too heavy and slows me down in case I have to run.

Wow, there's a max of two on the permit here. I'd never use more than four... three would be very workable. Two is a little inconvenient.

Is Contra Costa County issuing permits now?

You are not much of a tactical operator operating in operations!

This is all about flexibility. I like to have a 629 for hiking, full size 45, mid size 9mm (Glock 19 or Kahr T9), compact 9mm (Glock 26ish), small 9mm (SIG 938, Glock 43 or Kahr PM9) and a pocket 380. This covers all concealment scenarios. Only three means keeping one large and two small guns. There is also no redundancy so if one breaks, paperwork and waiting is involved.

Sure, 17% of applications are approved as of last year.

Looks good for the front side, now you need to properly arm you back.

Iím just not convinced of having so many different carry guns and the necessary skills under pressure to do things right.
I can see the difference in my shooting between my full time practice/carry Shield and another platform/feel gun I want to have some fun with.
Iím not willing to give up a couple inches of accuracy or an additional half second on draw for a gun that fits a particular shirt better.
On the other hand I wonder if I have lesser skills than others, maybe not many people lose a step with guns lesser familiar to the subconscious.
