Default Derringer on CCW?

So I have three suitable firearms for conceal carry and they are all on permit. However, I will be selling one of them and I just bought a .38spl Derringer at the gun show and pick up next week.
I think it would be nice to have as a backup or to carry at the beach.
How angry do you think my instructor would be if I ask to qualify with it as in Orange County I need to put 72 rounds down range?
Anybody else put a Derringer on their permit?

I don't think they would care. They want the $35 or whatever. We can compare scars, I have a notch in my trigger finger knuckle from my seecamp.

I've got a membership at Artemis and qualifications are "free" or included with the membership.

I wouldn't mind getting a seecamp. Might be my next carry pistol. How do you like it?

Love carrying it.

Hate shooting it.

I would have no problem qualifying a derringer in Ventura County as long as the student was proficient with it.

Nothing in Orange County prohibiting Derringers.
