I just flew back from Atlanta and hmmm what? again with the games.

We will pick up the frames on Saturday and deliver them onsite to anyone on the list who wants them. We will also have some for sale for those interested.

We will be there at 1 pm and remain there for 90 minutes, and will probably grab a coke / beer locally afterwards to celebrate the close of this group buy.

See you all then!

Will there be a weekday pickup for those of us that can't make it during the weekend?

I'm trying to keep up with this thread but am so lost, just trying to confirm that you still have me down for 2 frames and 1 jig, shipping paid, but that they have not yet been shipped, correct?

Sending a PM too, thanks!

Anyone have a picture to post of a frame that has been received? Or post a picture when you do receive a frame?

I'm looking forward to this being completed as much as the next guy, but I'm curious about ETA's on Gen2 grips and jigs too. Also, I noticed that Ares "Metal Works" is again doing 80% AR build parties, but no mention of 1911 80% parties. Any idea when those might start up again?

fugov08, Ares, or anyone that knows, when will the build parties resume for 1911s and what was the issue that cancled them?

Dimitri was kind enough to make time and meet us to deliver these frames.

Both Dimitri and Lindy state that the new grips will be available for pickup in the next 2 weeks.

Those who need to pick up frames, contact me and we will get these to you ASAP.

We purchase a number of extras and have these available for sale as well.

Thanks to everyone for your patience through all this.

Cheers.

Did those come with the grip or was it like GB2 where they received only the metal portion?

So if the grips will be available in two weeks, what about the jigs? Thanks.

And I did receive my frames sans grips/jig.

We're in the Long Beach Huntington Beach border.

I think someone has already been in touch with you, wingnut?

For general information, there are only 13 frames left for pickup in the group buy and the group buy will be complete.

ummmm, no.
in addition to those 13 frames, LOTS of grips and jigs need to be delivered before this GB is complete.
just sayin.

I believe glbtrottr means that his involvement will be complete (i.e. Ares is taking over delivery of grips/jigs directly). Of course, could be wrong here.

If Ares has taken over the fulfillment of the rest of it, then there's no reason for him to remain involved. This then becomes the Ares group buy and we proceed as before.

fugov08, are this grips made here in the USA or overseas? Makes me think because it's a long wait if it's molded here in the US. Turn around of plastic products made in the USA should be quick, no? just asking.

No reason it should take this long regardless, unless lack of funds. I've gone from art to part with an injection molded bicycle frame with multiple revisions in the time its taken these grips to be made, and I started AFTER this GB closed the original time.

I've never seen somebody with so much time to keep stirring the pot without actual involvement. It's truly amazing how long you have been stalking this thread and throwing cheap shots whenever and wherever possible.

Bump for grip and jig delivery dates......

Ares Armor was not aware of where the grips were being manufactured until the organizers of this group buy provided this information to Dimitri.

Unless something has changed, the grips will be made here in the US in San Diego County CA.

Even if Ares ships out all the grips to all parties in the mailing list, there are still 40 grips that require delivery to us.

Lastly, like the rest of you, we have heard nothing or received any communications/initiative on the part of Ares yet.

There are also a number of shops in Orange County and LA that I have heard are building Rudius. If convenient, get you Rudius built and start shooting it.

Cheers!

Is/was there some way to get the gen1 grip that I missed?

Core, anytime.

There are only two people left to pick up their frames in this group buy, as the consensus was that Ares would deliver grips quite some time ago. People were told a week out on grips...a number of weeks ago.

I hope we are not in the hurry up (and pay) and wait (it's been nearly a year) program.

Let's see how fast new management can deliver grips.
