Default Pistol Rail Light Holder?

Is there such thing as something that will go on the tactical rail of my pistol that can hold a light?

I know there's lights that mount to your gun as an all-in-one package, but... As far as buying something that I can stick on the front of it and insert my own flashlight of choice. Does it exist? If so, what is it called?

I don't think I've ever seen someone do that, but if you really wanted to you could try finding something like this:

https://www.gearsector.com/browse/ca...hlight-mounts/
http://www.brownells.com/search/inde...ount&ksubmit=y

I don't think it will work out well for you though and buying a dedicated weapon light or practicing pistol light techniques is your best bet. A dedicated light has controls where you need them and allows better weapon control. Proper light techniques are versatile since you don't have to muzzle everything just to shine light.

Awesome. Thanks for the info.

I've just been on a budget and thought I could get away with something like that... Guess I'll hold out and get a proper mounted light.

Thanks again for the info, good sir.

I don't want to dissuade you from something that may work for you. I'd also hate the thought of directing you to something that may fail at the critical time where you are depending on it.

With that said I searched around some more and if you really want a pistol rail light adapter this may be a good solution. On the other side of things a Streamlight TLR1 is relatively inexpensive and I understand is a good light. It is about $109 new but sometimes sites have deals, and of course you can find used. Midway has $15 off $75 order, so with shipping it would be $104.

Anyway here is a store link and manufacturer product pages for a light adapter. Please double-check the product number as Exile Machine has great prices but often missing product details.

Streamlight TLR-1 and done.

By the time you get a mount and a flashlight worthy of trusting your life to you'll end with a bulky, less intuitive set-up, and probably have spent more money.
