My new CZ 453 American SST
Received this puppy on Monday. Bought online from Dunn's. It has a Nikon Prostaff Rimfire 3-9 X 40 mm scope using Warne's 722M mounts.

CZ's are steadily gaining popularity. I forget if this or another version has the bull barrel. Men! your St Augustine grass is nice and healthy. Mine is barely surviving when you are limited in water usage.

I shot it today, along with Norma, and RWS Target Rifle. By a long shot, CCI was the worse. For the price, Norma was the most accurate. I have 4-5 makes to try yet including two Eley and two more RWS.

We have no water shortage problem here whatsoever. None. A resevior (bleeping spelling) was made in central FL near here that holds tens of billions of gallons, which fills up every summer. Enough to last even the driest fall/winter/spring.

My third CZ. Beautiful guns that shoot beautifully.

C's has them up now and then but for a brick the price is in the mid $60's I think. Caution. They are very oily or greasy. Hard to load into a ten round mag like a 10/22. Still for the price, just about everyone says they will outshoot all.

Yeah, with our drought the only healthy grass here in California is the kind they sell in the dispensaries!

factory out of the box config, i find cz45x will outshoot pretty much any 10/22. with mods and upgrades though, then it depends. as for maximum potential, i don't know enough about these 2 platforms to say for sure. i imagine it'd be the CZ just because some people have won competitions with a CZ (although not often) and i haven't heard of any won with a 10/22 of any kind and because bolt action vs semi.

Nope. I didn't want the newer 455 models. The two I have are the older, supposedly discontinued (replaced by the 455's) models. My 452 American I bought at Whittaker's the first of the year when they supposedly received 1000 of them in 2 or 3 batches starting in December. The only thing I'm thing of changing is the trigger pull, as I'm use to the 2-2.5 pounds on my 10/22's. All my 10/22's either have had the Brimstone trigger work, or the Kidd single stage drop in trigger. Can't beat either one, although the Brimstone is much cheaper as you send him the trigger assembly for reworking.
The other CZ is also the American model of the 453. This one has a fully adjustable trigger. It too will be lightened. By me though, after I shoot a few more times with it. One of the features with the SST trigger is their "set" position for the trigger. Jus gently push the trigger forward till you feel a click. Now the trigger will respond with a very, very light pressure. It's poundage is also very easily adjusted.
