Default Assault Weapon Registration

I must have been under a rock, but this is major news to me i saw the deadline to register was 1/1/18 but extended until 6/30/18. If i register my ar-15 as an assault weapon does that mean i cannot sell or trade it after? does it also mean that i cant remove it after lets say if i make it a feature less rifle. Also if i sell it to a family member outside of the state, or once i register it do i have to dispose of it to DOJ once they demand ( or i attempt to sell it)?

If i am in the wrong thread please redirect me im sorry, but this is very disturbing to me and i only now saw the registry site https://oag.ca.gov/firearms

Yes, it appears that you have been under a rock! Unfortunately, there are probably thousands like you under that rock that are still unaware of what is going on. If you read the threads on AW registration they should answer your questions.

Wrong forum.

Start here - http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s....php?t=1364777 - in the How CA Laws Affect Me forum. Plan to spend an hour or so in that thread.

I've been saying that for years ...

There is no value at all complaining or analyzing or reading tea leaves to decide what these bills really mean or actually do; any bill with a chance to pass will be bad for gun owners.

The details only count after the Governor signs the bills.

Not a lawyer, just Some Guy On The Interwebs.
