yeah... the data on the mini is incorrect- A barrel that is a little fatter out front can't fix the root problem with that rifle. ITS A RUGER.

That's coming from a huge Mini 14 fan.

And dont shoot that without the top cover on. You'll get a snoot full of nasty blowback.

Very nice, I have been thinking about sending my Mini 14 to Accuracy Systems for a conversion for a while.

If you don't mind, how are the people at ASI to deal with and how long did it take to get your rifle back?

I'm actually the second owner, friend of mine had the work done. He was happy with them. 10 months on the turnaround. I've heard it's worse now that the craze hit.

12 years ago i got so red in the face dealing with ASI over a couple of customer's guns they totally botched and fubared...I decided to learn tool and die and do it myself. Now I work at one of the countries- nay- World's best gunsmith firms. So I suppose I owe it all to the yahoos at ASI.

Love 'em.

Lets get real though... almost every product for sale on ther site is OTHER companies' product renamed and spun as if ASI invented it.

"extreme duty XTP muzzle brake?" John Masen. $199 INSTALLED- WTF? http://www.johnmasen.com/Merchant2/m...ategory_Code=F

"urban brawler scout rail?" Aimtech- http://www.aimtech-mounts.com/Rifle%20Mounts.htm

"ASI Maxi brake?" Are you f-ing kidding- its a MICULEK! AND TWICE THE PRICE!

This goes on and on. How anybody can send these guys a gun and money. wow.

WOW, tell us what you really think. I'm happy with the gun, does everything it's supposed to do. Not to mention I didn't have to pay the large price tag. Sorry your life was reworked because of them.

Who do you suggest I send my Mini 14 in to get "tuned" ?

What do you think of John Baker of Great West gunsmithing?

Gundoc (John) at Great Western Gunsmithing is the Mini 14 guru. Does great work and is price reasonably and is great to deal with. Also provides free videos for DIY. Learned to do a trigger job and bolt disassembly with his Mini 14 videos. Read a lot of good reviews on his accurizing of the Mini and 10/22 as well.
