Default Suffering from Gun Legislation Fatigue?

Heck, I am.

It makes it hard to follow everything. Not too many of the laws will be enforced, but the law-abiding types can't take that chance. Aside from the laws themselves, it's the proliferation of laws that gets me down.

I went to San Francisco a few years ago, and on the BART train, there are stickers all over every interior surface about this law or that, everything, including offering your seat to an elderly person, is legislated and has its own number in the penal code. I couldn't wait to get out of there.

It is called battered gun owner's syndrome.

Depressing, but the only way to get out of it is to fight the cause of it.

YES, I could not agree more.
What bothers me the most, is the posting of people asking what is going on?
Where the heck have you been? Under a rock, in a cave, head in the sand, up your a-- ? As an IDPA & USPSA shooter, most all of my shooting friends have kept up on the crap going on in Sacramento. We have been calling, faxing, emailing to try to get our side of the issues out.

^^^^^this

We took my daughter to school (UNLV) a couple weeks ago and spent 5 days in Vegas with her. It was nice how I just didn't care what was going on in CA. Well, I'm back and so is the garbage. I need to go shooting tomorrow.

Same. But I am in for the long haul, so I will not allow the fatigue to keep me from the mix.

The real fight comes after this round of nonsense. Hopefully it will turn into overreach with blowback.

"I've heard rumblings" ... "when does XXX take effect?" ... "do I have to turn in my XXX?" ...

The theme of all of this is that people aren't paying attention, and worse, that they have done NOTHING to help for all this time. It's really not hard to find a list and status of what is pending.

I've never followed politics or been active until about two years ago when I got into firearms. I've been active emailing, calling, donating, and rallying friends and that what's makes these news laws that much more disappointing for me. This has truly opened my eyes to the dark side of politics. I'm probably 50 emails in and have yet to receive a personal response to any. We just gotta keep up the fight and even if we're not successful we'll know we did the right thing for our sport and the next generation. It's better to live on our feet than die on our knees

Default Keep Your Sunny Side Up

Well I've been at it since January 3, 2013 and yes I'm a little tired, but I won't stop until the Legislature adjournes. I decided to give a good personal effort this year with emails, letters, phone calls (and) donations to the NRA and Cal Guns. The outcome this year will be a little ugly, but long term efforts in the courts will mitigate some of the damage.

As for you Senator Yee, I will keep my checkbook handy and in your next political effort you can count on my financial opposition. And no I don't live in your district.

At least now they're coming out from underneath the rocks and joining the fight. Many people I've met recently are either new to shooting or old to shooting and lost contact with what was happening years ago. Recently I ran into a 60+ year old lgs owner that still thought Feinstein was writing the bills we're fighting this year in Cali. Really?

Also agree with other poster that the bigger fight will be if these bills pass. It's not just about the fight though. Look at all the new people becoming informed. All the new people trying to become engaged with calguns. We need to maintain this momentum.

Last note, it is tiring and I think we should have a calguns vacation shoot in Neveda to help everyone refresh

And this is exactly how they hope you will feel. Makes them feel just the opposite. I'm not saying not to feel that way, just don't let them know they are beating you down, or they will know they are winning.

A few questions:

What is happening with Yee's bill #47?

What's the next legislative step for all the bills that passed last week?

What is the governor's deadline for signing these bills into law?

I'm not a white collar guy who spends all day on the computer to be able to keep track of these bills. I don't have hours on end to scroll back through pages & pages of comments in various threads to find the answers. Thanks.

1. I believe they have that one on hold while 347 is flying through. They kind of overlapped I guess.
2. They have one more vote by Sept 13. Then off to moonbeam.
3. I believe he has till Oct 13th to sign, veto, or just let pass.

Do what I did, BUY ANOTHER GUN!

It got me right back into the fight! I arranged a meeting with my assembly member too!

Never give up, never back down. Do all you can, then you deserve the RIGHT to complain once/if these bills pass.

That helps me a lot too ptusa. Going online daily can be depressing, yet I do it daily hoping to make a change through online education. Need to regroup from time to time by taking a break from frequent politics/news/forum/social media Matrix or one will burnout or get too angry. Prayer, meditation, and nature helps me to not burnout.

Morfeeis, This picture shows how hopeless it seems sometimes in California:

--- legislators and many citizens with their head up their buttocks. It won't end well unless enough of us are like this quote from Founding Father Samuel Adams

I already "pulled the plug" (as you said Morfeeis) by Voting with My Feet and doing political migration to the liberty-minded Idaho-Montana border of the American Redoubt. But since the occupied territory of the Peoples Republic of Kaliforniastan is still a second home to me due to family still here and a long-standing boyhood love of this (Once) Great State of California, I still keep up the good fight. I resist this these tyrannical usurpers by financially supporting the Pro-Second Amendment groups in my signature, and near full-time libertarian Bill of Rights education by blogging (inspired by James Wesley Rawles and M.D. Creekmore of http://thesurvivalistblog.net), Twittering, social media Facebook/Google+, etc., Wikipedia edits, podcasting (inspired by Jack Spirko of the SurvivalPodcast), by making YouTube posts and the occasional yet seemingly useless letter-email-fax to our Democrat Socialist legislators of Commiefornia (second home is in the Bay Area for better or for worse) or letters to our sheriffs. I think California is the most important battle-ground in these United States against this new leftist tyranny of the gun-grabbers and bicameral Big Brother statist Democrat and Republican liberty-usurpers. Sadly, it seems as California goes, so goes the rest of the country over time.

I feel that way too. But I re-inspire by remembering Thomas Jefferson's words, "I have sworn upon the altar of God, eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man. And as Judge Andrew Napolitano said,

This photo meme is how it is to be a conservative or libertarian Patriot in the California big cities:

May our righteous cause of recreating liberty succeed here in California.

Ruskie, this last picture meme is how I feel about what you said:

Long live our Constitutional Republic!

P.S. It was disgusting how in his recent Bomb-Syria speech Obama, the man who said he taught Constitutional Law, stated, "I am the head of the world's largest constitutional democracy." What the hell is that?! We are a Constitutional Republic with Democratic tendencies, NOT a "constitutional democracy." What a nightmare this Obammunism is! Heaven help us.

For any battered gunowners feeling rundown and living in Northern California, come to the rally in Sacramento on Saturday and get reenergized!!
