Default Hats off to Rocketman

I'm freshly back from AS_Rocketman's Rimfire Known Distance course weekend.

I'm tired.
I'm sore.
My brain hurts.

This class is only offered a few times a year and I highly recommend it!

It WILL teach you if your equipment is not dialed in. But it will also teach you how to make do with what you have.

You will learn what your equipment and your bullet/load does at each yardage. You will learn if it is repeatable or ... variable, and you will learn to make it work.

Rocketman will start you on the path to wind reading, and accounting for wind which is the hard part. Target acquisition. Working in teams.

You will learn about *outstanding* feats of marksmanship, the siege of Boston, Daniel Morgan, some heroes and villains of the days and years after April 19th 1775

It is an outstanding class. And the group of students couldn't have been better.

To everyone, especially whangdoodle and AS_Rocketman: Thank you for a great, exhausting weekend!

If any of you Appleseeders (you must have attended at least one to join this advanced rimfire KD) who have not taken this class, chasing The Patch or already earned it, this is not a class to miss!

Thanks again!

Glad y'all liked it. I had great fun developing the class a few years back, and it's wonderful to watch students pick it up and run with it!

There is no great mystery to long-range shooting, really. You just have to account for a few more factors... more stuff to focus on... but that's half the fun. The Way of the Rifleman doesn't have any end, not that I've encountered, but it's a scenic and rewarding hike.

I've posted up an AAR and a few pictures from the class at the RWVA forums here: https://appleseedinfo.org/smf/index.php?topic=50805.0

We're doing it again on November 18-19 at Burro Canyon. I'll see you all there.
