Is ammo same price in Nor Cal as in So Cal?
9MM in SD Walmart was about $10 for Federal and $23 for 100 round Winchester White

No federal left in mountain view, just Tula steel tip for $9 for 50. Or WWB 100 for $20. Picked up 300 winchester. No .45 but they had .40 S&W

I'm not sure WHY I do it, but I log every purchase of ammo I make, and most every round that gets fired. Of course, this spreadsheet is full of formulas to make my life "easier" when recording this info as well

I purchased 100 rounds of .223 @ $39.97 (Federal Value Pack - 55gr.) Not sure about the .40 S&W prices, but they had a bunch.

I don't think any walmarts in San Jose sell ammo. Thats what i was told anyways. The super center usually has a good selection of ammo. 100 rd 9 mm wwb goes for about $22

Was at the Oxnard WalMart yesterday and they had WWB in all calibers, and a metric butt-load of Federal FMJ, same prices as posted above. Then I noticed something odd, 550 packs of Federal .22LR are 3.4¢/round, but the 375 packs are 3¢/round.

Guys:
Thanks for all the good info on WMs in So Cal. Much appreciated! I get around a bit with my work, so the various WM locations that stock are all good to know. May just have to buy from WM when I'm 'in the area'. I'm breaking in a new Sig P226 (.40) and am starting to work on trying various brands and loads, but have so far been primarily firing WWB 165gr FMJ. (Love 'em!) BTW, just for kicks I went to the Gun Show in Ontario today. Lots of junk and such, but there were deals to be had on ammo. I bought both Hornady CD 165gr CTX and Winchester Bonded 180gr PDX1 for $15.95 + Tax for each 20 round box. Obviously SD loads (that I want to try out), but at that price, they were roughly half as much as the best prices I've found on the web. I also got a 100 round box of WWB 165gr for $29.95 + Tax. Locally, I'm getting the WWB in 100 rounds for $36.00. Several other good brands were also available in various loads. I want to get dialed in on WM for general target rounds, but with the deals I saw today, it might just be worth it to pop for the $11 Gun Show admission fee (with coupon from the web) and parking once in a while if I'm planning to buy in quantity, to offset the costs of going to the show. There were even better prices on different manufacturer's FMJ rounds if you bought 500 or 1000 rounds. And I gotta say, some of the people watching was pretty damn funny. Worth the price of admission (for me anyway). Just my 2 cents. |
