Default CA legal Yugo M59/66 SKS at Centerfire

I just recieved a call from Pam at Centerfire Systems, who told me they have received FIVE M59/66s in NEW condition (there is also a pair with consecetive serial numbers) for I believe she quoted $239 each.

To my surprise, Pam did confirm Centerfire Systems will remove the grenade launcher attachment, prior to shipping to a CA FFL.

So those who want a SKS, grab them now while you can.

Speak to Pam on 1-800-950-1231.

I would ask how they are removing the grenade launcher. As in are they unscrewing them or cutting the barrel. My stepson bought one from them years ago and they just cut the launcher off and then did a so so crown job. Mark

thats exactly what they're doing is a cut and re-crown on it, and sometimes adding a muzzlebrake (sp) to it. I called and asked, but for 225 you can't beat an unissued gun even with the barrel cut.

I have an 'amputated' 59/66 from Centerfire.

'Hack job' is putting it nicely. The muzzle face looks pretty hideous and was left in the white. I'm probably going to order a facing tool from Midway USA to dress it up, then cold blue.

My 59/66s have a sleeve spot welded to the GL. Cant CF do that? Seems simple and it could be reversed to stock configuration if you ever moved out of CA. No worries about a botched crown job also. I love my Yugos, they are very accurate rifles. It kind of ticks off some of the bolt action guys at the range

Get them while you can.

i hear you on that. some of the fudds at my range were cheering each other on trying to ding hte manila folder sized gongs at 200 yards with their scoped fudd cannons, only hitting it less than 10% of the time

i received extremely dirty looks hitting it at least 85% of the time

I'd ask if you can get the grenade launcher unscrewed. That way you have the threads so a muzzle brake can be screwed on. Here's a pic of a yugo I cut the launcher off and replaced the front sight assembly with a russian one. Mark
