German P226
I want a vintage Sig Sauer P226, made in W. Germany. I've been told that since these P226s are off list, I'm limited to a private party sale, within CA. I've seen several on the gun auction sites and the out of state sellers said they would ship to CA, but I'm wondering if such a transaction is legal. Would I be able to transfer the purchase through an FFL? I appreciate any help/clarification.

No, the only way to get one of these beauties is through a private party face to face transfer at a FFL.
If a store has one on Consignment with a private party, then you can purchase it from them. I just purchased a W. German (1990) P226 from a pawn shop this way. |

Theres an old W Germany 226 floating around on Gunbroker right now. Its located down south and they guy says it has to be sold out of sate FUD. It does come with normal cap mags which can be changed by an FFL. good luck
