Default Where to shoot Steel core 7.62x54R

I was hoping someone would be able to point me to a range or legal place to shoot my Mosin Nagant. I haven't been able to find any place that allows steel core ammo, and unfortunately i cant afford to go buy 10 boxes of "Range approved" ammo at the moment. Im local to the 92509 area code so hopefully there's something semi close by, im willing to drive though.

Poway weapons and Gear in Poway allows you to shoot steel core. It's indoors but they have a 100 yrd. Any blm land might work as well?

On Target in Laguna Niguel or Raahauges's in Corona as mentioned above. That's about it.

Wow, I didn't know that. Do you know when this was put in effect? And is it all CA or just SoCal BLM?

I didn't research the BLM website for the entire state, but here is a link for the SoCal Desert District. There's gotta be a link on their site map for state wide info.

Thanks for the link. Man, that sure is a crappy pic of a map BLM put up. You would think you they could make a link to a higher resolution map.

Dario, the desert district forbids steel ammo, so you will have to go north, to the central district.

that's going to be a drive from Riverside.

maybe your easiest way out is a cheap reloading setup, some copper bullets, and some Mexican match ammo. you can sell the pulled bullets and recoup some expense.

a private range might let you shoot steel core. I don't know of any personally, but it is possible.

heck the AZ or NV border might not be too much further from you than blm-approved land in CA.

West End Gun Club allows steel core.

Thank you for the improved map. The other one wasn't too bad, I just wanted to ***** about the BLM, lol.
