Will have to figure out where I got the production numbers, it was sometime ago maybe from Ruger when I was asking about parts, they sent me an original owners manual though.

Yes, years ago I went through the ATF process trying to get Italian made Garand's classified as C&R, this was before they were 50 years old. Production from Breda was 250,000 which I thought was small and would make them "rare".

Got a refusal (probably because I wasn't a museum curator) with a form letter that states the reasons for classifying a firearm as a C&R.
I appealed that and got the same form letter response, took about 6 months total time.

Yet CZ 82's which they made many more of during production are C&R's!

Updated and correction on PC 9 and PC4 production numbers and refresher on my memory!

PC9 1996-2006 approx. 20241 based on serial number ranges

PC4 1997-2006 approx. 15670 Based on serial number ranges

This info from Ruger website.

I didn't realize so few PC's were made. I think the ATF decision isn't always based on pure numbers they also seem more likely to do it when it is from a country that no longer exists such as Czechoslovakia. Aso they seem to not like to put C&R status on guns from the PRC and I can think of some where it would be warranted.

Norinco 1911 commanders are very rare in the USA as but one example. The 77B is also an unusual design but no idea on how many were imported.

Bought 2 JP AR 9s this year, and now this comes out!
Take my money now! I really want one! Love my 10/22 Take down.
Great trunk/truck gun!

It's lighter than the original Ruger PC9/PC40 carbine (7.0 lbs).

I wonder if a lot of the excitement here is because there is finally a new gun we can actually buy.

That said, I want one.

You're right, and I thought "rarity and value based on rarity" per the ATF letter would take into account total production numbers and country of origin being one of our NATO Allies would have counted, I was sadly mistaken and disappointed with the ATF over that process. this was about 5 years before the Italian Garand's became 50 years old. A couple of dealers were surprised when I told them they couldn't be sold as C&R's at that time they had to go through an 01FFL!
Oh yes the form letter WAS neatly signed in blue ink by the Head of the Firearms Dept
I probably should have taken one of my Breda Garand's to the Museum in Carson City and had the Curator examine it along with all my supporting documentation and had him write the letter to the ATF.
BTW if you get to the US Mint Museum in Carson City, NV they do have a nice Arms display including a Gatling gun in the middle of the room.

I like pictures, plus there isn't much info out there yet so this is all from the Ruger Website. Not that it will stop me from buying one, but what are the odds it will have a recall?...

...Never mind, take my money already!!!

Marketing Department Notes:
  • Interchangeable magazine wells for use of common Ruger® and Glock® magazines. Ships with SR-Series Pistol and Security-9® magazine well installed and an additional magazine well accepting Glock® magazines is included. Ruger American Pistol® magazine well is available at ShopRuger.com.
  • Easy takedown enables quick separation of the barrel/forend assembly from the action for ease of transportation and storage. Takedown is as simple as locking the bolt back and verifying that the rifle is unloaded, pushing a recessed lever, twisting the subassemblies and pulling them apart.
  • Dead blow action features a custom tungsten dead blow weight that shortens bolt travel and reduces felt recoil and muzzle rise. Bolt is machined from heat treated, chrome-moly steel to ensure strength, structural integrity and durability.
  • Reversible magazine release and reversible charging handle to support ambidextrous use or one-handed control manipulation while maintaining a proper firing grip.
  • Cold hammer-forged, chrome-moly steel barrel with ultra-precise rifling provides exceptional accuracy, longevity and easy cleaning. The heavy contour barrel provides consistent accuracy, while barrel fluting sheds unnecessary weight and allows for quick handling.
  • Accurate sighting system with adjustable ghost ring rear aperture sight and non-glare, protected blade front sight.
  • Soft rubber buttpad with spacers allows the rifle to be properly sized for different shooters or varying levels of outerwear or defensive gear (three, 1/2'' spacers included).
  • Durable, glass-filled nylon synthetic stock features sling swivel studs for rapid sling attachment and forward mounted accessory rail to allow for a variety of under-barrel accessories such as lights or lasers. The grip features a proprietary texture for enhanced control.
  • Light, crisp trigger pull with minimal overtravel and positive reset utilizing proven 10/22® trigger components.
  • CNC-milled from an aerospace-grade 7075-T6 aluminum billet, the receiver includes an integrated Picatinny rail and is Type III hard-coat anodized for maximum durability.
  • Also includes: one, SR-Series pistol magazine and hex wrenches for rear sight adjustment, buttpad spacer adjustment and charging handle removal.

On I'll say it since nobody else has yet. Where is the set with multi-barrels and bolts/springs? Looks like it would be easy to do for .40/9!!!

Pre-order available from Sportsman Outdoor Superstore for $519.99- https://www.sportsmansoutdoorsuperst....cfm/ID/202341

Not sure how they'll handle the 17 round magazine for us people behind enemy lines though.

How to get the threaded barrel version without the 17 round magazine? That would still be CA legal - no features! I have a ton of Glock mags and wouldn't care about the loss of a single Ruger SR magazine.

I wonder if it will be drop safe with a firing pin lock? I think I remember the PC carbines were and that is on the rare side for long guns.

Find a local FFL with a hicap permit, ask him to order it for you, tell him that he can have the 17 rounder gratis when the rifle shows up. FFL then sells/gives the mag to an exempt customer.

Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

Hoping this guy will eat the steel cased Wolf that my glocks Love.

Looks like co-witnessing with a red dot will be difficult. The factory sights are pretty low and both would be in front of the optic.

Model 19101 comes with 10rd mags.
I called around and no one expects them in stock for 2-4 months in the East Bay.
I’m ready to purchase 2

They will probably be online sooner. I’ll be grabbing one as soon as they are in stock.

Now I’ve got to source a muzzle device and optic. I’m thinking a 6.5moa rmr

Don't forget a low mount... I might just steal my FF3 with PIC mount from my Mossberg 930.

That KAW Valley XL 9mm 1/2-28 looks good... I don't think Lantac makes one in 9mm for 1/2-28.

That C-more Railway comes in a lot of flavors... 2 MOA all the way to 16 MOA... I guess I'd just get 2 or 4. I wonder how low Optics Planet will go on those.

I dunno, but I'd be willing to try one. I've always heard good things and the reviews are good. One of those options I forget about. I have always liked the Hakko Panorama type design and the C-More looks like a refined one that's similar and not cheap. But the price is good.

Another option for me would be my MRO, but I'd have to get a new mount.
