It's just a little rut... I'm sure the guys in a Prius would be fine. Just not retired in his truck...

Same here knows one knows just that it has to be open before fire season which is months away maybe they will fix it sooner.

My parents live in Idyllwild so I get a lot of good information: Best estimate is 3 months until 74 is open and that's direct from caltrans and the contractors involved.

Hate to hear it's going to take that long
Good to hear from a reliable source

My son lives in Idylwild. He just left after having dinner with us to go back home.

From Riverside, he has to take the 215 south to Temecula, 79 east to Aguanga, 371 east past Anza to the 74, then drive north past Garner Valley to Mountain Center before he can go home. Crazy.

And he has to do that for at least three months if wants to get off the mountain.

His only other option would be to take the 74 east to Palm Springs.

How about ..
Leaving Anza on 371
A few miles past Cahuilla Casino / take Wilson Valley rd.

Follow that to Sage road / Turn right

Follow that toward Hemet , You will meet Domenigone Parkway / Turn Left

That will go into Meniffe at the 215

As the Crow flies ... It's a straighter shot

R3 to Wilson Valley Rd is one of my favorite routes leaving from Hemet heading to San Diego through the back roads.

I ran that by my son a couple weeks ago as an option, but he said it was closed due to water damage and flooding. Do you know if it has reopened?

I'll remind him.

It was closed for a while due to storm damage
At the spot near the k-9 training area

We call the fun-dip

All repaired now
With the other road closures, this road is getting a lot of traffic
