Yesterday I spoke with three different operators at the NRA. All three told me this deal was still available over the phone. These operators were at extension 2 of 1877NRA2000

If you are interested in becoming a lifer for 300 dollars, pm me and we will keep this thing going, as long as they will do it. Please do not pm me unless you are willing to follow through. Any questions ask here. Let's make this a group effort. From what I understand any life member can be the sponsor. So, of someone is interested in becoming a lifer, post it here. Me or any life member can sponsor you. You need our name and member number. Any life member can PM you that information. I will definitely do it, but I am sure there are many more here who would like to participate in the sponsoring. Let's continue to swell the ranks of the NRA together.

I just have one request, it would be interesting to continue to keep count of the calguners who sign up for life. So far it is 165. Let's get it going again. Remember, post here you want to join as a lifer. It will be 300 dollars. Me or another calguner will pm you our info, and you call 1877nra2000 ext 2.
Please post your experience good or bad.

Robert was quick to PM me the info when requested and I am now a lifetime NRA member. Thank you sir! Here are the details of my call so everyone has an idea of what to expect:

I called the number and extension and spoke to "Marianne B****" and requested a lifetime membership through a sponsor. She asked:
"Do you have his address?"
Me: "No, I have his member number and he said he would sponsor me."
"Is there some reason he couldn't call in himself?"
Me: "Well he generally works during the phone bank hours."
"How much did he say it would cost?"
Me: "He indicated that the lifetime NRA membership through a sponsor would be $300."
"Do you know his address?"
Me: "No, I know that he lives in Alabama and we met through an online forum."

She put me on hold for a moment and from that point on she seemed happy and wanted me to sponsor NRA memberships for troops overseas for $100 and then when I said no, she offered a $75 package, and when that was declined a $25 package.

After a rough start she totaled me out at $300 for a "gift life membership from Robert McM***** Jr."

A little bit more hesitant to ring me out than I though, maybe this CS rep was used to the sponsoring members calling in but she processed through so it's a success.

Good luck to everyone else and keep the continued support of the NRA coming!

IM replied too. Wanna say that I have had 100% success rate with the callings. A few had to call twice. I appreciate everyone posting their experiences with the calls. It lets others know what to expect, and gives me info as well. Like the post above let's me know it would be better if I include my town and State with the info I give.

So I called the NRA this morning to buy into the lifetime membership and hit a roadblock. I was told that the lifetime member has to call in and purchase the membership as a gift. Seeing as how so many have already successfully purchased a lifetime membership without jumping through all of these hoops, I will try calling back later to try and get a different answer. But on a good note, it is still available for $300.

Hey Rob,

I tried two different operators and they both told me that you had to be in the room to confirm your information with them.

Operators:
Jennifer Addis
B. Beinberger

I told them that you were unavailable during their call center hours, Beinberger (SP?) asked someone before denying to do it. Jennifer Addis (SP?) flat out denied it without your presence.

Thanks anyways,

Don

Yeah, I just got the same answer. Unfortunately I got the same operator twice. She said the life member who sponsors you must call in and make the payment themselves. Oh well, maybe I'll try again tomorrow.

Yeh, I just tried again and was told that Robert had 30 days to sign up other lifetime members from the initial date of his lifetime membership. I'm getting different stories each time I call. I think that I may call back later to see if I can get a different story.

Ok boys, looks like it is winding down. The 30 day thing is similar to another thread I am participating in. -what they are saying

Sounds like it is time for some of the recent lifers to step up..........

From hat I understand if you are going to sponsor, the person you are sponsoring needs your name, member#, and city.
You call 1877nra2000 ext 3 with that info.

Those that I have sponsored here, time to pass it on.

the only option is for the member to gift a membership for 300.

The only other option I am aware of, is to fill out the forms that came with the life member packages. This would require someone sending the sponsor a check and the sponsor mailing it to the NRA.

I logged into to my NRA acct to try to gift a life membership and it said the price was $600. Is the gift deal over too?

Edit: Correction, I just logged in and it says $1,000. WTH?

Robert, I am very interested in this and would be willing to send you a check if that is what is needed. Please send me a PM with whatever details are needed. I can then communicate with you via PM to make sure that you have what you need if I can get a lifetime membership for $300.00

Looks like it is wrapping up. Still possible depending on who you get on the phone. Reports are the two LM dept ladies will do this over the phone for you of you want to make a gift, and YOU make the call, and you are a NEW life member.

This has been going on since around thanksgiving of last year. It usually lasts just a few months.

All the NRA operators are not on the same page with this deal. Some say yes, many say no, some are saying "if" and on and on.

That being said I am through 'actively' recruiting. I will however give anyone here my info if they want to 'try' it. Getting mixed results. Had one on my FNRA Committie get in today with my info. However the posts above are indicating he was 'lucky'.

If you want to try it, best chances are using a newer life members info.

I will fill out my end of the form and send it to you.

QUESTION:
All of you new life members, in your packages among all of the paperwork did you get a form to gift life members a membership?

I have a form from when I went to Benefactor, and I think my kids got a form in their membership packets. I signed them up in April.

If you got a form, let's step up and help some calguners out.

I got a letter with my new lifetime membership that said I would have the ability to gift $300 lifetime memberships as well. However, when I went online and followed the directions it was $1000.

At one point in addition to the letter there was a form. It had room on it for 6 people. Did you happen to get one of those?

Thanks again to Robert, got my package last Tuesday.

FYI. In my package there was a Confidential New Member Survey. The last item, (9) gives you the option to gift a family member or friend a Life Membership for $300. In the fine print: (To enroll additional friends or family members, please call 1-877-NRA-2000.)

I plan to gift my two brother-in-laws who have been year to year NRA members.
