Default LA C3 Monthly Shoot 03/29; 7PM @ The Firing Line (Burbank)

UPDATE: CalGuns.net Shooting Team takes 1st. Place in Davis

Greetings and Salutations,

I just got back from an awesome weekend in Yolo County shooting a GSSF match with the Calguns.net Shooting Team. I didn't perform as well as I would have liked, but the other two team members (dmaverick, & PM720) sure did, and will hopefully be able to make up for my short comings and still secure us the top amateur team spot. While I was up there, I also had the privilege of meeting and hanging out with the NoCal C3s at the SoCal Expo Gun Show, and prices do seem to be coming down and accessories more readily available.

For those of you that attended the LAX event a few weeks ago, we had a record turnout with well over 20 people taking up seven lanes with everything from pistol ARs to .22lr conversions. That along with the afterparty at Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles it was an event not to be missed. But, if you didn't make it, don't fret, my partner in crime 'HappyCamper781' will be running these on the second Wednesday of every month.

*Again, for those that didn't get tickets at the LAX event earlier this month that plan on attending Burbank, let me know and I'll make sure you get two raffle tickets to throw in the kitty.

- RoundEye

* * *

It's that time again. Join us at The Firing Line in Burbank (1060 North Lake Street, Burbank) for the NEXT LA C3 Monthly Shoot of 2013 which will be held on 03/29/2012 @ 7:00 PM.

Please review the following details pertaining to the meet:

Pistols - The occasional double tap is acceptable (but if it's get's out of line the privilege will be taken away), no holstered pistols, no drawing from a holster, no open carry (all standard indoor range safety rules apply)
Rifles - The only permitted rifles must be of handgun caliber (9mm, .40, .357, 5.7mm, etc... are acceptable). ARs/AKs of the 22lr variant are also welcome.
Shotguns - Unfortunately, given the size of the range (47ft), shotguns are NOT permitted.
Cost - $10, stay and shoot as long as you want!
*CalGunners get membership prices on ammo and rentals.
** Firing Line members are free to attend.

REMINDER: - When you're there your actions represent the entire CalGuns community. We should always take responsibility for our actions, and treat their facility with the utmost respect.

As usual, we'll be able to utilize their training room to eat dinner, hangout, chit-chat, and purchase swag. In addition, as usual they will be reserving an entire side of the range for us, and depending on the turnout we may have to take turns and/or expand into the other range. We'll also be providing Costco pizza for anyone that is hungry and wants to eat.

So, who's in? You know there is nothing better that you'd rather do on a Friday night than shoot some guns with fellow CalGunners!

* * *

* If you're interested in volunteering your time and helping coordinate this shoot, or one like it in your area, contact me for details. *

I'm in.

Also, if anyone is interested, I will be bringing ammo for sale at my cost (rounded up to the nearest dollar). Limit one box per person.
I have only three (3) boxes of each type (due to the recently imposed Wal-Mart limits).

If you are interested, please indicate that on your "I'm in" post. RoundEye, pmrsino, PM720 and Tripeaks69 have first priority, since they had already posted their "I'm in" post before I posted mine. Otherwise, the priority will be set by the "I'm in" posts on this thread.

Default Duration of shoot?

Hi LA C3 shooters,

I really would like to attend the shoot but have some questions:

1. How long does the shoot last and how late can I get there at so as to not inconvenience folks? I live in the Pas area but have family obligations (bathing the kids as an example) at home. Was thinking I might be able to get there by 8:30pm (is that too late?)

2. How much ammo should one bring?

3. What's the format of the shoot? Is it stationary target shooting for accuracy or are you moving through a course like IPSC/USPSA?

Sorry for all the questions but welcome your reply.

Ken

Ps - Love to have dibs on a box of 9mm at the shoot that is being offered at cost. I understand priority may be given to others that arrive earlier (assuming everything works out and I can go - crossing my fingers)

Will arrive in town on time and be present - see you there!

And choo2x - assuming it is OK to shoot at Firing Line, hold me 1 box of the Winchester Super X .22 LR 37 grain Copper Plated Hollow Point!

Starts at 7 and pretty much runs till closing so you will get your money's worth.

2. How much ammo should one bring?

As much as you want to shoot!

3. What's the format of the shoot? Is it stationary target shooting for accuracy or are you moving through a course like IPSC/USPSA?

This isn't a real sanctioned shooting match per se as much as a meet & greet type of event although Roundeye does put together some informal completions or challenges sometimes as well as offering NRA/Winchester marksmanship certification too. Many shooters like myself will usually let you put a few rounds through their guns if you want also.

Sorry for all the questions but welcome your reply.

You can have my box if you like.

Scott

Rats, it Italicized all the post not just my answers! Hope you can sort them out.

kdruff2 - We will hold the box for you, if you can make it. If you cannot, please let us know, and we will sell it to the next person.

Good Job Calguns GSSF Team on the shoot up north. Bring us back some big wins and lots of free Glocks on your next shoot!

Your jerseys looked sweet!

Thanks for the recap Scott and the ammo hold Shelton. Spring break for the kids and looks like the family is headed for Disneyland Thursday and staying the evenning. I may not be able to get out of my daddy commitments so I'm 50-50 at best.

I'll, like most things these days, have to play it by ear for the day of. Will reply back to this thread on day of. If not this time, definitely want to get out and meet up w/ all the CalGunners. I'm relatively new to CalGuns and shooting overall.

Peace out and more to come.

Ken

PS - Shelton, if no one else needs ammo, keep me on the list. But if you get more than three request, I won't take it personally if you move me down the list given my tentative plans. Either way, very much appreciate the gesture. Hope to meet everyone soon (or in near future)! Go CalGuns!! Need to pick up a t-shirt.

Ken,

Don't sweat it. I'm going by the list. If you can make it (even late), great. If not, no biggie, I'll just go down the list at the shoot.

Maybe you should triple your asking price. It seems to be working in the market place.

LOL, nah, I'd rather people come to the shoot, hang out, have some pizza and have a good time slinging some lead down range, without having to pay triple. The market place will calm down soon, because they'll all be out of money.

Please put me down as a "maybe".

I'd have 200 rounds of .45 ACP, a 5" and 3.5" 1911s.

Hey, that's OK too. I knows he's short. Well, on ammo anyway. Of course, if he doesn't have any ammo he can't beat us and we don't have to worry about buying him lunch! Now I get to eat for free!!

Who's going to buy you lunch? If I'm there I know you'll buy mine, but who's the poor sap buying yours.

I'm in!

Firing Line member. LA C3 Monthly Shoot first-timer, looking forward to stopping by and meeting others and maybe pick up some calguns.net swag. If the lanes are not too busy I may even do a little shooting.

Awesome, and welcome. When you arrive look for our banner on the training room door, we'll be inside. We get an entire side of the range 7 lanes, so you only need to share them with fellow Calgunners. Not all, but most are pretty friendly.
