San Diego - Female Shooters!

I am looking to see if there are female shooters in the San Diego county area who are interested in getting together for range meets and such. All types of shooters from beginners to advanced and any firearm style (pistol, rifle, etc) are welcome.


I am looking for replies from CalGuns female members; but, if you have a wife or female relative or friend that would be interested in attending, that is ok too.

My wife wants to learn how to shoot our new shotgun.... I do not think I would be a good teacher.... any ladies out there want to take her along and show her how it is all done?? she also wants to learn to shoot a pistol as well... I would pay for any ammo there if someone would loan her a pistol. but the shotgun is what she really wants to learn how to shoot first.. please let me know...

P2K has an excellent shotgun class for beginners. It is held in the evening and is about $20.00 . Dennis is the instructor. If no one chimes in, I recommend this option.

Where on P2K's website can you find out about the course?? If nothing I will just call and find out about it..

She really wants to learn and i feel it best that she learn from someone else other than me at first...

My fiance took a great class - women only - at South Bay Rod & Gun. We both took a shotgun sports (skeet) class at P2K Range - a woman instructor. Both classes were very good. I think she'd be interested in this, however, I doubt she'd go without me...

Oh, P2K's calendars are not very good or up to date...We took the shotgun class on 5/31...Worth the $25!

Yes, but they are SO booked out! Get in as soon as you can! That's the class my fiance took and she really liked it. Individual help; shoot a .22 pistol, rifle, and then get to load 2 of your own 12 gauge shells and shoot them! She also shot my 9mm as long as we were there we recommend that course!

P2K is also good with classes and not talking down to women.

Where do you post the women's shoots? My fiancee isn't a part of CalGuns, however, I'd love to direct her to these! We just did a round of trap at P2K as well as rent a couple of pistols yesterday at P2K.

We don't have any women-only shoots just yet. But, I have a group of interested women going on Facebook.

My gf would like to meet a few women to get together for some shooting. She doesn't like shooting with me when my friends get invited, so this sounds ideal for her. She is a novice with her pistol, ar-15, and Remington 700. She could use a little work with her 20 ga. Remington 870 when shooting trap but she knows how it functions. I also gave her a Mosin Nagant but have not loaded any ammo for her to test it out.

If any of you ladies would like to shoot some trap, we are planning on going to Escondido fish and game Saturday evening (8/3/13) from 7pm until they close up for the night.

We are also members of South Bay rod and gun so if there are any plans to meet up there she would probably be interested if it is on a Sunday. She doesn't want to join the forum to post so if anyone is planning a range trip send me a pm and I will let her know.

I have a couple girlfriends who would be interested. Last time I took them shooting they where a tad intimidated, you know how buddy's can get when you bring girls, its like a pissing match to show them the proper way (showing off). Shot me a PM next time you girls go out and I will notify them.

We were short on people in this months Iron Sights meet up, definitely could have used others to join and commit. Just as a side note to Ladyrr's comment. Seems as though the Iron Sights group is shrinking each each month, some more attendance would be awesome.

My Fiancee, Kim, and I will be at P2K Range (El Cajon) this Saturday, 8/10, around 9am. If anyone is interested, let me know...she has shot pistols, rifles, and shotguns and will be helping to break in a new lever action rifle this Saturday

Usually last Wednesday of the month. It shows up here in the SD chapter forum. We just went last week. Out of the 13-14 people who said were coming only 6 of us showed up . So more people showing up to make sure that we keep having our iron sights meets. Plus usually it is all dudes. So getting some respectable women to join us stupid men would really help our CGN image

Welcome! My fiance and I shoot about once a month on the weekends - I post a shoot in this sub-forum - at P2K in El Cajon. I know the ladies will post other shoots. You are more than welcome to come with us. I sometimes take others to the range, took a female friend on 12/23, and you're welcome then too! I'm going, solo at this point, this Friday, 1/10.
