Default Cheap FFL in 626 for receiving a gun from Gunbroker?

Any recommendations for a FFL Dealer in 626 who can help me receive a gun that I'm buying off Gunbroker? I know Bain Davis does it for $135, but that fee seems steep.

I'm from rowland heights and I chose pacific coast firearms. $25 for a pistol + tax and dros.

I have had good luck with Alamo Pawn shop on Azusa in West Covina.

Yup. $25 for just the firearm transferred to them. Then there's the tax @ 8% and $25 DROS.

OK, I am a little confused. What are they charging tax on?

If you buy a gun online from out of state seller, the CA FFL Dealer must collect sales tax on the price you paid for the gun.

Sorry, the order in which I listed the charges makes it a little confusing.

The receiving FFL will charge tax on the firearm's purchase price. Some FFL's might not charge if it is from a private seller (non-dealer), but it should be assumed that most will (especially from gunbroker.com).

Let's say the firearm was $100 shipped. Mike @ Pacific Coast Firearms will charge you 8% tax of $100, + $25 for the out of state transfer, + $25 DROS.

Your total will come out to $58 for the transfer.

It seems that pacific coast firearms has closed it doors. Anyone else have a good lead on cheap transfers in SGV/OC? I'm looking to purchase an RIA 1911 online. Thanks!!

Pacific coast firearms is still in business. He's just not taking new customers. Try Redfeild96 I sent a friend there. He said it was a good experience. Redfeild96 is in Brea.

Redfield Armory in North OC.

There is a thread on their prices.

I believe $25 for handgun, $20 for long gun

714-936-5120

He goes by redfield96 on here.

FYI, as of March, Pacific Coast was planning to shut down as soon as his FFL expires this year. Not sure when that is. And no new clients until that time.

Yes, I'm having Ace Pawn Shop receive one of my handguns and they told me that it was $25 Interstate transfer fee + $25 DROS + Sales tax if the shipping FFL does not collect California Sales Tax.

Believe it or not, Mission Hardware is an FFL and cheap too! And it's in the heart of 626. I've shipped a few guns through him, talk to Joe the manager. He's a really nice guy and easy to deal with.

No, I'm not kidding! As I've said, I had a bolt action and a receiver sent there. Not sure what the actual charge was but it was the cheapest in town AND local to me.

Damn, they would've been perfect for me.

I'd say Ace's Pawn is probably the best bet in the SGV.

Firing Pin folks are nice, but I think their fees are pretty steep compared to others.

Well, the price increase really sucks. But they're still the cheapest in the area. We could drive to OC and save $5 on the fee, but would spend more than that on gas considering we need to make two visits at the minimum.

On the sheet, Ace's is listed at $35. Typo or did they go up another $5 on top of the other $5?

Not cheap, but here's another data point for your list:

Crosshairs USA (Torrance) - $125 + $25 DROS

Exorbitant FFL transfer fees aside, they are a very nice store with really great sales people. I had time to kill Saturday afternoon and Sean was really great going over nearly everything in the case with me.
