Default Camo Gun Dipping (Hydrographics) Near Los Angeles/Socal?

Anyone know of any companies in or near LA/SOCAL that do hydrographics (gun dipping) on firearms?

Or anyplace in the nation for that matter? Trying to find a cheap place to do ATACS.

Aint' cheap.

EDIT - The cheap guy is in NY. I don't guess he'll be clamoring for any "assault Weapons" anytime soon. I'm gonna search locally. There's a company here that sells the machines they use. They might know somebody.

I would go with the California outfit (camo graphics, I believe). They're in Central CA and they became wildly popular with waterfowl hunters last couple seasons.

I've handled and fired a few scatterguns they dipped (they use the hydro-graphic method).

While somewhat pricey, it is a VERY nice finish and seemed to me, at least, to be very robust. I always use waterfowl hunting as a true gauge to the "toughness" and robust qualities of any given shotgun or related product. Duck hunting is wet, muddy and god awful dirty.

I called that same company by phone & got quote to have my grand daddies old workhorse Rem wingmaster 20ga dipped - to protect the old metal.

They were bar none way cool and offered excellent customer service.

FYI - I also saw an old compound bow / archery set up a friend had them camo. It was AMAZING!!

^ Edit - I think it was camo solutions.

PS - if you visit the DHC (www.duckhuntingchat.com) they are a sponsor of the forum. Very cool outfit with rave reviews across the board - again - this being the California based company in Central CA

this stuff is pretty cool. I would love to do one of my builds in ATACS. How durable is this stuff compared to cherakote and duracoat?

Hydrographics itself it not durable at all it has to be coated with a clear coat to protect it as it will wear off easily under normal use.

The reason it is expensive is because the entire inside of the weapon needs to be masked, the outside sand blasted, painted with auto primer, hydro dipped for the pattern and then coated with a auto clear coat. That is how most Hydrographic places do it as the original method of coating.

We have worked closely with Cerakote to perfect using Cerakote as the HydroGraphic base and as the top clear coat. It is a lot more durable and MUCH thinner coating than using auto paint on your firearm. That plus the entire inside and parts can be coated with Cerakote so no masking is require because Cerakote is designed for coating firearms.

We will start to offer this when the move to the new shop is completed near end of Nov. so check out the vendor area for announcements and prices. We are also a full service gunsmith shop and only coat firearms not cars and motorcycles.
